The fact u got 4 secs of deep sleep means that it is working surly but something else u have running or installed is preventing it.
I have wifi off
Blade wifi fix uninstalled
Google maps uninstalled
And notifications on xda and facebook. Turned off.
(Edit) xda notifications not preventing me from gaining deep sleep.

Would the method used to install the kernel make any difference.

I can reboot back into stock 2.1 and test for deep sleep if it would be of any help.

I don't think so, yesterday I tried on a fresh flash of the ROM, without any apps installed (Including Google Apps) except CPU spy. I got about 8 sec in a few hours.

@greatbigdog

Can't see what difference it will make but I also flashed these two files via xrecovery.

Sensors_j13.zip
Cm7_when_screen_off_fix.zip

Might be worth a shot

I have tried this file from 9lukas5 and it cause endless wlod reboots upon booting up. It gets as far as boot animation where the phone vibrates and hardware leds come on and then wlod in end less cycle like this.

2.6.29.6_FX_k010.1_gb+FXR_v071.zip

That was the screen off reboot fix which seems to have sorted others deep sleep problems. I'm now not really sure what else to try out?

Could it be possible that the varying methods for installing kernel, baseband and rom vary. That cause users having different results

I restored my back up and installed abovd file. Will try this one from a fresh install tomorrow

Edit; this mini loader gives an interesting result from the 'find mini loader version' script from g script.

Maybe your phone can work on the high cpu capacity that this rom offers like mine. Try reduce it to 998 max cpu and you will find this rom excellent and super stable.

Don't me wrong I have no problems with stability, Iv had no wlod or random reboots apart from trying a file earlier I'm just trying different things to allow phone to enter deep sleep to use less battery while the screen off.
