Does anyone have any good ideas for quickly restoring your apps post update, especially ones that have been moved to the SD?
Thanks!
I keep seeing people post that they flashed both firmware and baseband. You don't need to flash the baseband if you flashed the firmware. The baseband is a part of the firmware.
Well lol. I thought the BB had to be up and running before installing ROM. I don't know how many times I read about issues due to not having the correct BB.
Keep in mind I'm not running the fw a la vanille. See my signature.

The only time you need to worry about the baseband is if you are trying to run custom 2.2+ ROMs. If you are running a custom ROM then you have no reason to flash this new baseband or firmware. No devs are using this baseband.
Actually, there are 2 times to worry about baseband. The second is running regional SE 2.1 firmware, like Germany 2.1.B.0.1 or baseband 2.1.67 on another incompatible region.
There is no incompatible region. All version/region firmwares will work on all X10 (SO-01b, X10i & X10a).

How do you know? It will work on any X10, but the new baseband is regional. Just like when baseband 58 came out. Many people flashed back to their old baseband because of the battery drain and signal problems.
Instructions:
You will need FlashTool from 0.2.4 and up to use these FlashTool packs.
You can always find the latest FlashTool release here:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=920746
FlashTool is developed and maintained by
Androxyde and Bin4ry.
Big thanks for this really great tool.
And a big thanks to tomiik for all his help in this aswell.
To use these files in FlashTool you will need to
unpack them to your FlashTool firmwares folder.
The path will look something like this
(the X's represents the version number, which ofcourse differs from each user):
FlashTool_X.X.X.X\firmwares
When you have unpacked the zip file to the
"firmwares" folder in FlashTool you are now ready to flash your X10 in FlashTool.
When you start the program there is a Flash button,
when pressed all firmwares in the "firmwares" folder will be
listed and ready to be flashed.
.....Here it is, 2.1.A.0.435 for xRecovery / Flash tool.
This ROM is pre-rooted with JIT v2, Busybox, and xRecovery installed. Everything else is untouched.
Instructions:
Expect a kX10 release soon
- Download and extract 2_1_A_0_435.tar here.
- Navigate to the folder that was extracted.
- Move 2_1_A_0_435_Update.zip to your SD Card and flash with xRecovery.
- IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY ON 2.1.A.0.435: Flash the files in Flash_Tool_Firmware with Flash Tool.
If this helps, please consider getting a free DropBox account from the link in my signature. My ROM development is outgrowing my storage quota!
Pls. close this thread its very annoying that this is on top of my xda app when all you can read is fighting, ego fight and money talks.
