This is not the place to ask that.

You already have it I think if you took the hboot when you did S-OFF and you were not on the leak firmware.

OK so I read up on this....from what I gathered this what I did. I'm on the GB firmware with Cleanrom ICS latest version in which I flashed the old firmware patch. So I downloaded the bear for GB (windows) and went through the process. I also accepted their hboot. It appears everything went well. My understanding is that I do not need to flash this ENG Boot...correct? Reason I'm asking is when I reboot it says I need a sim card installed.....but after it goes away my phone runs fine. I have 4G and can make calls. Weird......any suggestions. Thanks con for putting out this thread. I'll reboot and keep checking...I couldn't find this issue anywhere else, although there are now way too many s-off threads. Thanks in advance.

I think their gb hboot is the eng hboot. The reason it is needed is because the GB hboot blocks fastboot stuff until you unlock again which is not what we want.

So I'm good....thanks for your fast response. As for the sim card warning sign.....it goes away quickly once my phone grabs connection. Since I'm home and my connection defaults and connects to wifi immediately, plus I use juice defender, it takes a few seconds to grab 4g, which in turn defaults back to wifi only. Not sure if this causes it as it never did that before. Regardless the phone works great. Thanks again bro for your help.

idk try reflashing the rom. I don't think the issue is the hboot, but I could be wrong.

Ahhhhh.....so I was reading some more and I came up with the idea from a thread with someone having somewhat of a similar problem, to reflash the old firmware patch. Seems to have worked. Running great so far.....hopefully it stays that way. Thanks.

are you running ICS and did this?

On GB, my 4G icon dissapears and it tells me I have no connection, but under about phone it shows me connected to 4g. Starting to wonder if it is the ENG Hboot?

already tried a few different GB roms, and tried original radios, and OTA radios to same issue.

I'm running CleanRom 4.3 Standard ICS 4.0.3 on GB firmware, with the old firmware patch from this rom's OP. I figured out I had to reflash the old firmware patch again after s-off which seemed to do the trick for me.

Although I'm not sure this is the same issue.

Thread Locked. A replacement hboot has been developed by the Juopunutbear team. It is a patched 2.11 hboot that is similar to the engineering hboot, but won't cause as many issues. It also allows for fastboot commands without HTCDev.com unlock, but not the full engineering set so it is safer for the average user.
This is for old firmware folks only! IF ARE RUNNING THE ICS LEAK FIRMWARE, DON'T FLASH THIS! Thanks again to jcase for posting this a couple months ago!

Warning: If you try to S-ON the device with this HBOOT on it, it will BRICK. Restore the original hboot first via RUU.
    Steps:
    -1.S-OFF the device
    0. Make sure you aren't on ICS firmware
    1. CHECK MD5!!!!
    2. Put PH98IMG.zip on SD card
    3. Reboot to HBOOT
    4. Flash bootloader when prompted with volume up.

HBOOT is probably the most critical part of the phone. If it bricks, it is not anyone's fault except yours!

alright, so...since I always had the radios and such laid out before me on previous phones, how do I do this :D

    1. Download RUU
    2. If it is an EXE, run it and follow directions.
    3. If it is a zip, rename to PH98IMG.zip, stick on SD card and flash in hboot.

So just guessing here, this would be the hboot I would want if I were to rollback to GB. Run the January GB RUU, then run this?

    Yessir

    Won't that remove s-off? Then won't I have to re s-off?

Nope. Because if it did then their development/testing devices would get S-ON every time lol. This is pretty permanent.

I am downloading that RUU as well. 107MB and counting. I flashed the RUU for the Pre-OTA and then the ENG Hboot. Had the issue, flashed both OTA GB and ICS Leak radios. ICS Leak wouldn't even let 4G stay connected, 3g was great. GB OTA Radios do the same as Pre-OTA radios.

I am hoping to get this RUU tonight and mess with the radios. Like you said though, it is slow as all get out.

Done: Firmware only uploaded. REDACTED. It sucks and can't hold a signal.

I thought Andy Bones went from the leak to this hboot?

So what would go wrong flashing this over the new firmware?

he downgraded first. This won't recognize the internal SD card since the mount points changed.
