Hmm ... well ... little things ... I like the b&w looks, the minimalistic approach and the reboot submenu a lot for a start

Didn't think VI needs updating, but not sure if it will be once there's reason to.

And most of all, it was time for a change, VI was just running perfectly :cowboy:

just a heads up if u have trouble with mms, extract the mms.apk from VI and push to system/app. its the only one I could get to work good with this rom. other than that this rom is pretty sweet. I also came from VI

Thanx for the tip, been recooking the ROM to my usual set of tweaks & mods, so no issue to me, mms.apk is gone already and replaced by gosms which can handle sending/receiving of SMS/MMS all by itself

Restoring all my apps with Titanium now :fingers-crossed:

I have a little problem: when i use speed dial i have strange vibrations (ok i have disabled it) and sometimes it hangs.
Any solution?

only tested with google music so far. doesn't matter if i plug in the headphones before or after i start the music. the sound only comes out the device speaker and not the headphones.

Hi guys,

been very satisfied with this ROM so far coming from Virtuous Inquisition.

Only 2 minor problems:

- Voice Search FCs whatever I do with it (eg using Google Translate)

- Green notification LED blinking even when message/email/... was already read. Have to reopen and close Notifications to stop LED from blinking.

Any ideas what I can do about this?

Voice search does work for me, but I modded my HNS2.9-B&W by copying the missing libraries from HNS2.8-overloaded, also I flashed some addons. It might be enable_tts.zip from Splder on Mediafire, not sure on that tough.
I've never noticed the green flashing indicator, cannot help you with that.

Hi,

Been trying to get FM Radio to work, don't use it often, but at times it comes in quite handy...

Found posts (by Arie) that suggests using libraries of 2.8 overload and the apk out of add-on's 1.9.

All files found and added (/system/lib/* and /system/app/htcradio.apk), but only the missing libraries.

Still the app can start, but it just won't work ... can't toggle power in the radio nor change frequency or search for station.

Has anyone succeeded in getting the FM Radio to work on 2.9 ? If you, what exactly did you do (what files taken from where and put where ?).

Hey Yank, hmm you are right, the app starts but FM radio wont come online, I'm taking a look at it now. Sorry for the inconvenience, I didn't get a FC so I expected the FM radio to work.
Edit: I got it to work again BUT don't know what files did the trick as I don't have time to find out the specifics. I went through the folders

Code:

/system/app
/system/bin
/system/framework

of 2.8-overloaded and 2.9 and picked the files missing in 2.9, pushed them in recovere, whiped cache and dalvik, rebooted and all was fine. The files are non flashable zip-attached in this post.

Edit2: Uploaded a second version of the missing files file, I forgot to add missing apk's from /system/app

I just noticed one other thing. I'm accessing the SD card though USB and while doing so on VI I used to get transfer speeds of around 16Mb/s, here I get 1Mb/s at best !?

Is that just me ... ? Found nothing in the thread about USB transfer speed issues.

Not linked, but I'd suggest you either use faux 007u (not r2) or his later 008beta's. r2 will execute you init'd scripts twice per boot (except if you're in ARHD), which as such is probably not too much of an issue, but on the other hand not ideal either.

As for the mic issue, can't tell, haven't spoken to anyone on the phone today, and installed the ROM this "night"

I've installed this ROM on my girlfriends phone and she can't send sms larger than one. If she write 3 sms large, can't be send? I didn't read all the thread and search function is also useless via Tapatalk, so don't be mad if this was already questioned/answered.
Any suggestions otherwise she will kill me ;D without 3rd party apps please

Noticed the exact same thing today (first day on HNS). Works in GoSMS if you turn on the 'split message', but that's oncool, your SMS is brocken in several SMSes and they don't arrive on the correct order.

Just restored a Nandroid of VI to test (same apps installed, mms.apk removed in both) and came here to report and ask the very same question.

Perhaps a bit obvious (so maybe you already tried this), but in the message app go to settings, scroll all the way down to SMS count (or 'message count' in english?) and there you can change the number of messages before it becomes an mms.

The default here is 3, so perhaps changing it to a higher number is the solution? I haven't tested this yet though, so please do!
