Root does work using zero-null method and you get system/flex remount by adding blackthund3r's remount app.

Blackthund3r's root tool didn't work for me, I juste used his A500 app.

Yeah by the way I also use Vache's kernel 3G-3, it rocks ! Everything still works and you get optimisations and OC

(*^(*^()&(* I put the boot.img and mod files in a clean build on .14. How the heck did you get 3g working? It show somewhat of a signal, and apns, but no data transfer.

Did you check that APN settings are right and at least one is selected ?

I didn't do anythig... it just works.

I got my hands on the update file HERE it is an update and can only be flashed from 4.066.29.

Will get you a kernel log after I finish testing the stock kernel for stability. 5hr deep sleep and still active.

On a different note, zero-null root app seems to work for those running the stock kernel with UNL BL ver4+. Seems to hold root well.

FYI I'm running Skrilax_CZ bootloader V7. Root does hold and system/flexrom remount works too.

Thanks for posting. I trust these a lot more than system dumps

Stripped bootloader & recovery, rooted, applied and running successfully, will report back in a few days with 3G status...

galapogos01 : the file I just posted is the update file coming stright from Acer and will only install if your tablet rune the ROM 4.066.29. It is not rooted and it is not using an unlocked bootloader. You'll have to do all that by yourself.

What ROM isn't compatible?

We basically use the same rooting method anyway.... just mine is sexier and simpler (installs Superuser etc). The exploit is identical

That's bizarre. Is it still kernel version 2.6.39.4+?

I'll look into it later. And ZeroNull's script definitely works?

EDIT: I had a bainwave. Could you try an older release such as v6.1? v7 introduced a completely rewritten workflow for the app and runs the exploit many more times than before. Perhaps the kernel doesn't like getting hammered?
