Hi all, I just bought a used Note 2 with the intent to move everything from my GS2 i9100 Alliance to the Note 2 Alliance. I thought that would be a relatively simple process. Very excited. The first step was to unlock it and use the SIM from the GS2. Oops! First landmine. The routine on XDA to unlock the Note 2 didn't offer quite the same menu options and so I couldn't do a free unlock. Even worse, it appears that the SIM card in the Note is much smaller than the one in the S2. The S2 sim won't fit. Am I doing something wrong?? If not, then I guess I need to deal with my Service Provider (Orange) to give or sell me a smaller sim. Very bummed! Has anybody dealt with this???

Yes indeed, Note 2 has a micro sim smaller than the others smartphones...to transfer your datas, you got clouds solutions ans gmail for the contact....and swipe photos music and apps backup on your SD (same format for that)...good luck mate

It's nearly done. Alliance will never be the first to release new roms as soon as new firmware is available as we are about adding more to a rom, not just having the newest bunch of letters in the rom name
Try rebooting, that might stop it. If not, flash WakelockFixes from Alliance ROM ota

Just want to report a success. I liberated my new Note 2, rooted, and installed Alliance. I have my GS2 on one side of my computer and the Note 2 on the other. I am moving media files from one to the other. Slick!! I am left with a few questions:
1) on the gs2, I was using Alliance with a stock theme. Is there no stock theme for the Note?
2) I am using the default kernel and default modem. Does the Perseas kernel support OTA?
3) Where does this rom come from? I am in Spain and would like to find a local modem? I used LS8 on the gs2.

1. No stock theme as of yet (but stand to be corrected)
2. Not sure, never personally tried the other kernels, but give it a go and report back. If it doesn't work, just grab stock kernel from rom zip, place on sdcard and flash with ROM Customizer
3. Umm...could've been European, but sammobile didn't reveal any answers....

I now have almost everything that was on my SG2 installed on the Note. So I was starting to freeze Samsung and system apps with Titanium. I froze a lot of them and now Rom Customizer is FCing on me. Does anyone know of any dependencies that RC might have?
Also I can't find AdvanceS. I'll try looking for it in the Store.
But the rest of the system is great. Congrats to the team!

AdvanceS is hidden, to access it go to settings, Alliance Control, Custom Settings, Toggles...
ROM Customizer might need updating...if not uninstall and reinstall from the market...
Well, I have managed to totally bugger my phone. I was having so many problems with Rom Customizer, Play Store, and even getting a message "com.google.process.gapps has stopped". So I decided to reinstall Alliance with a full wipe. I formatted system and reflashed. Oops, no change. So I decided to wipe data! OMG, that wiped out my internal files including the directory where Alliance rom was stored. So I am sitting here looking at the TWRP recovery screen that can't find anything to flash.
I am trying to download a rooted stock from to flash via Odin and unfortunately that file can only be download by hotfile.com - which tells me that it will be 2.8 hours for the download. Well, I can live with that, but there is no indication that anything is actually downloading...other than the screen that says "you are currently downloading". I have no idea where the file will end up on my PC (if it ever does). I don't mind a 2.8 hour wait as long as I know that at some point it will complete.
If I close TWRP and turn off the phone, will I be able to bring it back to life?
Anybody have any input on the workings of Hotfile?

Although this firmware is DME6 it does not contain the kernel or modem that come with it. These have been replace by older versions to avoid loss of imei when rolling back to older firmware.
If you are already on dme6/dmf2/dmg1 etc install with Rom Customizer and unselect install with kernel and install with modem. This will stop you from having imei loss...
If on dmc3/dme1 or older install everything...
FOR ALL USERS:
BEFORE FLASHING CARRY OUT TWRP AND EFS BACK UPS AND STORE THEM SOMEWHERE SAFE!!
Also, you must wipe on install to enable new mods, no wipe = no work = no support

HOW TO FLASH V4?
Flash via ROM-Customizer coming from any rooted ROM:
1. Put the ROM on your internal storage
2. Open ROM Customizer and choose flash file from SD
3. Ficeto improved the flash config so it works with rom Customizer now. So just choose the ROM from your internal storage and it will present you with the rom config in a pop up window .
If you are on dme6 / dmf2 / dmg1 untick kernel and modem.
This will stop you from having imei loss...
If on dmc3/dme1 or older you can install with kernel and modem.
4. Make sure you WIPE when installing or ZTE/Teardrop lock will not work......remember to back up first
