Matricom G-Tab Quantum ROMs and unlocks

I am very new to messing around with Android devices. What I would like to know/get information about, is there a way to unlock the tablet and would I use a non manufacturer specific ROM? Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You can unlock it with the Kingo Android Root app. You can download it from the Kingo website.
I had to run the app three times but it did root.

no sensible root for matricom tablets

Keep in mind Kingo is malware
