Dunno why people would use echo instead of
getprop / setprop

Well since this thread is now kinda back alive, just a question.
Is there any point doing this to todays ROMS/KERNELS? or will it make no difference and simply make things worse.

We are probably better off without it, since we have those new adreno drivers and such.

i agree..in normal ICS roms or JB our phone has a great performance..if you go to GB roms..then with adrenobooster even better..mid high performance..better than xperia S in graphics.:good:
The problem with play is only ram.in jb you have only 100free.

well... I've done this edit in build.prop and then adb shell reboot and rom was in slot 1 (pac) and now I can only see kernel logo... Got to fix it by adb push build.prop (clean) when I'm in boot menu.
Lol, now I've got a black screen after build.prop pushing while in boot menu

65all these "tweaks"/"hacks" are useless for daily use...
i dont think we need Unlock FPS for Xperia 2011... we have 60 FPS limit which is fine as the UI is smooth...
these hacks are useful on devices like Xperia X10 where there is 30 FPS cap...
this has all been tested way back (almost a year back) and will just cause TONS of artifacts even with small things like menu scrolling...
