Has anyone got a rom for this phone:
Hardware : MT6575 (MT6517 is Fake!)
Model : F326
Build number : ALPS.GB2.MP.V2
Build date UTC : 20130326-065518
Android v : 2.3.6
Baseband v: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V26.P1, 2013/01/03 10:56
Kernel v : 2.6.35.7 (user@qs26) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 Tue Mar 26 14:50:03 CST 2013
screen 480x800
Ram 256
Rom 256

Really struggling with this one.

Edit: found the problem i had to edit the scatter file from;
CACHE 0xe340000
to:
__NODL_CACHE 0xe340000
And flash my recovery. So now i should be able to backup my rom.

Replace camera.default. so or camera.goldfish.so (whichever you have) from stock to port. Also replace all the libs related to camera like libcameracustom.so and libcamalgo.so (they should be together) from stock to port.

BTW this should not be in the unbrick thread. Clearly your phone is not bricked, and most of us here are not developers so we won't know how to answer. Even if you have asked already in the MTK67** porting thread and no one answered, just ask again, and I'm sure someone will answer. No need to post here.

Yeoh man, i've seen you here & here asking users to try your CM10 port whereby you should have been asking for a Factory ROM backup instead...
alamak_zps2e31ed77.gif

Fyi, CM10 will never work on MTK devices, if it does, many great ROM Cooker would've shared that long time ago...

And you can't even confirm if your device has the built-in Meta-mode or Meta-mode via testpoint...

First, get the Factory ROM then confirm which Meta-mode is needed... :cowboy:

A quick google search found this & this but you need a working device for this...

if your CWM is still working then may be the above can revive your device... :fingers-crossed:

Hello,

I have nearly the same issue: I've flashed on N9776 wrong firmware from china-iphone.ru. Surprisingly I've found backup from one of my colleagues but I cannot flash it. I've used testpoint to load preloader, it gave me DRAM error, but now the device is recognized by PC without testpoint, but I cannot flas DSP_BL and PRELOADER as SPFT v3 exits with runtime with access violation on FLASTHOOLLIB.DLL.

Do You have any progress with unbricking the phone?

BR,
Eugene

Hi one_slip / Eugene, sorry for the delay, I didn't get an email notification that I had been quoted (and am in the middle of exams).

No progress on my side - my new N9776 is despatched and should have been with me by latest today, but I still haven't received it yet :( What exactly is the error message you are getting? I think I encountered one before and it might have to do with an incompatible chip. Do you know exactly what hardware you are running? There are a few variants of N9776s out there - the CPU can be either 6577 or 6575, and the bluetooth, wifi etc can be either 6628 or something else I don't recall now.

How did you manage to get your computer to recognise your N9776 without testpoint? I still have to use the testpoint every time I want to flash something, and none of the N9776 6577 - 6628 flash images seem to work for me, I get a BROM ERROR: S_DA_SETUP_DRAM_FAIL (3002).

If you don't mind (and you know what your hardware chips are) maybe you could upload the images you are using and maybe I could try them also? I don't really know why none of the images/ROMs I have found so far don't work.

Once I get my new N9776 (*if* I ever receive it..) and if I can get the old one working, I will upload the backup images somewhere, maybe somebody can then figure out what the differences are?

Hmm, N9776 users, i'm also interested to know why it doesn't work...

Did you try Aivar's MTK Droid Tools Factory ROM backup here... AFAIK, its the last version for MT6628 4-in-1 Combo Chip & it even boots up on my MT6620 N9776 but CWM doesn't backup...

Or you're using the latest SPFT, fyi, for some old devices better to use back old SPFT version, Eg. SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.01 Or could it be yours is a MT6575... :fingers-crossed:

Thank you for your reply master yuweng. :good: As I was telling 2x1 (who has been very helpful), I mistakenly thought that the phone had to be rooted to use MTK Droid Tools to backup, AFAIR the first line was "make sure your phone is rooted". So unfortunately no Factory ROM backup of my own, which is why I decided to try and get one myself by buying another N9776, a very painful and expensive lesson. :(

I am using the latest SPFT, 3.1224.01, with the ROMs 2x1 suggested, most of the time I get this BROM ERROR: S_DA_SETUP_DRAM_FAIL (3002) error. I don't know if the hardware has failed, or whether the ROM is incompatible for some reason. I have tried "mixing and matching" the preloader, boot image and scatter file from a 6577 into a 6575 ROM (apparently that has worked for some people with other phones) but I got the same error 3002. I can try an older version, I haven't tried that yet.

I have checked and written down all the details of the hardware I remember by installing non-rooted Mobile Uncle Tools, so I am quite sure I am running a 6577 CPU. To test the possibility that I was wrong, I did try flashing a 6575 ROM, and SPFT said it was incompatible with my hardware, so I am quite sure it is a 6577. As for the 4-in-1 communications chip, I have only seen the number 6628 in my build number and model number, so that's why I believe I have the 6628.

I also have my zopo c2 bricked, or semi-briked.
It all started when i follow a turorial to root the device, the wifi and bluetooth stopped working.
My next step was to trying to install cwr, but I always got the same error message when the process should start:
BDROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032) with flash tool.

Then as I now, there are more than one zopo c2 mainboard around, and with mine it all points for being de first revision/version, it also as a tiny sticker with a capita A, in the memory card slot.
So, I've download the proper rom and try do flash it.
And always got the same error message that I've got when trying to flash the cwr image.
BDROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032)

Then I decided to press the firmware upgrade button, and it imediatly started flashing the rom, about 4 min later the green circle appears on the pc screen. I remove the usb cable and tried to power on the device, nothing happned.
Also downloaded a few zopo zp980 roms, but theres no way to get red of the error message, the flash bar only gets red and then it stopps.

Until now I've tried to upgrade or download but the same error message appers on the screen I dont know what to do with this brick.....

In SP flash tool you got something like "Window", activate "Write Memory"
In the Write Memory tab "Open Raw Data"
Select the file I will upload for you "preloader.img", memory settings "Nand Flash"
Fill "Begin address (Hex)" with this value 0x00000000
"Container length" (Hex)": 0x00040000
Click "Write Memory"
After that it will go red and later green bar, at the end after all finished you'll have yellow circle
But before that don't forget to open scatter file and also you must have installed MTK USB drivers, I will upload for you in case you don't have drivers installed

I hope that at least you'll manage to unbrick your phone
Can You Tell Me The Begin address and container length for my phone system.img i Have attached the scatter file

You tried with testpoint? Search in the russian forum (china-iphone.ru)

EDIT: Is "BROM error DRAM NOT SUPPORT" or similar your error? This error is because you flashed a ROM with incorrect preloader...I suffered too much (tried during~2 months) with a "Tianhe I9300" and finally found a ROM that worked for me ;)

My new N9776 has arrived, and I am trying to make a backup image before I do anything to it. (see previous - I bricked my first N9776 and no ROMs seem to be able to unbrick it). I am using MTK Droid Root & Tools v2.3.4, but when I connect my phone to it, the backup button is greyed out (I cannot click on it).

When I try to root it by clicking the ROOT button in MTK Droid Root & Tools, it tells me to press the restore button on the phone. After I click that, the phone restarts, but then nothing happens. MTK Droid Root & Tools detects the phone after a while, but the Backup button is still greyed out. And it looks like the phone itself is trying to back up my account, but it never gets anywhere.

Am I doing something wrong with the backup process? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you :)

i've seen far too many times that fellow xda member make this same mistake over & over again, including myself...
    tongue.gif

So pls pls people, don't use SP Flash Tool to download ROM not meant for your phone, it will brick it & there is no way to revive it back ! After you have download wrong PRELOADER, your phone will be completely dead, cannot power on, no charging, no recovery, no PreLoader USB vcom detection & you can say
    rip.jpg
    to it...

Here is the WARNING again :

NEVER DOWNLOAD ROM NOT MEANT FOR YOUR PHONE. IT WILL BRICK IT !
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Even with the the WARNING & you still do it...
    alamak.gif

Inspired by fellow xda member to start this thread to help out other xda member that run in to similar problem so here are the solution but it might not work for all MT65xx... :fingers-crossed:

If you have already brick it by flashing wrong PRELOADER then you still have a 50/ 50 chance to revive it so keep you fingers-crossed... :fingers-crossed:

    For MT6573
Requirement : Your MT6573 factory ROM, SP Flash Tool
MT6573 Meta Driver - If you don't have, download it from here
First you will need to open Device Manager, switch off your phone, press & hold Menu button but don't let go, now plug-in your usb cable will activate META mode(Thanks to Master Shifu Cybermaus for his insight knowledge)...You'll notice Mediatek USB VCOM will appear at Device Manager -> Ports

Mediatek USB VCOM will stay connected until you download factory ROM then it will auto disconnect, reconnect as PRELOADER USB VCOM & continue downloading...

After factory ROM download completed, it will be auto disconnected & you'll have your phone raise from the dead !

This hidden feature will enable you to download factory ROM when you brick it by flashing wrong PRELOADER meant for other phone however for some MT6573 there is no way to access META mode except by dismantling the whole phone...

If you can't find your model factory ROM, try to hunt for similar ROM. I have had feedback from fellow xda member it actually works ! Luckily, most MT65xx ROM are very similar to each other. Try to look for similarity at build.prop -> ro.build.product for eg, typical build are bird73_gb , e1109_v73_jy1, huaqin73_gb, tinnoes73_s8030_2g, mt73_w831_a9100_yingt & etc... google search is your friend... :good:

    For MT6575/ 77
With the battery out, hold the volume up, don't let go & plug in the USB cable will activate META mode for few seconds...Typically, you need to click Download at SP Flash Tool before entering META mode or it will auto disconnected...

If all doesn't work & you don't have a local service center for your MT65xx then may be you would want to try rua1's method but its not for the ordinary user... :fingers-crossed: Use google chrome for translation...

Attach is few photos that i've downloaded from that forum as it can only be viewed by members at that forum.... :good:

Added on Nov 23, 2012 - MT65xx is truly UNBRICKABLE

it seems that MT65xx is really 'unbrickable' thanks to whitetigerdk who inform me with his how-tos :good:

So you can raise your DEAD MT65xx back to life... :D

The trick is quite simple, for whitetigerdk case, he flash his GooPhone Y5 with Zopo100 factory ROM & the phone went DEAD...

He proceed to reinstall preloader driver from Zopo & was able to use FlashTool again and flash back his factory GooPhone ROM & thats how he brought back his MT6575 back to life... :good:

    Updates
i've pm'ed whitetigerdk & got a reply from him confirming that indeed his GooPhone Y5 has this META mode built-in (plug in USB while holding VOL +)

Device Manager will detect new device... Having said that, not all MT65xx device has this feature...

Added on Dec 20, 2012 - DO NOT USE MEMORY TEST AT SPFT !
There has been confirmed cases that fellow xda member brick their MT6575/ 77 by using the MEMORY TEST function at SP Flash Tool !

When you put a check mark at NAND Flash Test or EMMC Test what it does is that it actually FORMAT it & this will brick your device !

For those who are having problem such as 3013 S_DA_SOC_CHECK_FAIL or 8038 SP FLASH TOOL ERROR for MT6575/ 77 even with testpoint, you will need SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1224.0.sn85
I have upload it to here for ease to fellow xda member, Credits to Master Shifu rua1...

However, for those lesser known brand, its hard to say so you will have to hunt for it & do as the title says... :D

Its sad to see users are taking advantage of all these free infos & tool developed by Master Shifu... :( Recent check with Master Shifu & he told me he only get 3 donations from xda  Come on people...

Please understand the significant amount of time and effort required to understand how the MTK devices works, then developing a software, a new function, bug fixes, add new features, testing it & etc before releasing it as a free tool...

Master Shifu never demanded any payment for using his software & inline with the xda spirit to Gives Credit Where Credit is Due you should start hitting the DONATE button now... ;)

As i have mention in this thread before, when you have unbrick your MTK devices using these infos & tool by Master Shifu, it means you don't have to fork out another USD 200+ to get a new devices...

Normally for most MT65xx, you can't access META mode, to access it on my Lenovo, i have to take out the battery, press & hold volume up(don't let go) & plugin USB cable & the Device Manager will pop-up MTK USB COM for few seconds then disappear...( As the youtube video above ) Only at this MTK USB COM, the factory ROM can be downloaded without PRELOADER, according to Master Shifu cybermaus, thats how they download factory ROM at the first place... :D

Typically when you have MTK USB COM show up at Device Manager meaning you have factory META mode then you should be able to download your factory ROM with it too... :D No need to dismantle up your phone & look for testpoints... Did you press the Download button at SP Flash Tool first then only plugin USB cable... Or maybe you should try pressing the Volume Up button too while plugging in USB cable... :fingers-crossed:

Did you try reinstall driver as per whitetigerdk trick...

What is the error message you got... If you can upload then you should be able to download with it too... :fingers-crossed:

    Good Luck... :D

now how to search for the replacement rom ?
what things should be matched ?
Hard to say. Best thing should be a ROM that you simply *know* is for your exact hardware. Someone who clearly has the identical phone, and vouches for a working ROM. Or from your vendor.

Failing that, I would look for:
    - same processor
    - same memory specs
    - same buttons and number of buttons
    - same sensors
    - same screen resolution
    - same display type (IPS vs LCD vs OLED)
    - same camera resolution
    - release to market at about the same time

    Not so critical is
    - screen size
    - battery size
    - physical size

And luck. You need luck. But as mentioned, you can invite luck by only flashing boot/system/cache/user when doing so, it means you can always go back.

I am still trying to see if it is worth trying to port the A750 for you, as it has all the above hardware the same. Can you for me also collect this info:

Start Droid tool. Choose ADB terminal. Type the following in the command window:
    Code:
    adb shell (enter)
    su (enter)
    ls /sys/devices/platform (enter)
    ls /sys/bus/i2c/drivers (enter)
    cat /proc/devices
I want to see if they are similar to my A750.

As to your IMEI and SIM: Since your phone is originally a single SIM phone with the second one hidden, I would expect an original ROM to only know about 1 SIM. Do you need dual SIM? Also, I think I would like to hande the IMEI problem only after you have a ROM. You probably just need to rebuild your NVRAM, so even if you have a correct ROM, it will not have IMEI. Lets handle the hardware first, the IMEI later.
    11
    @ashishp.grims
The only way to solve your problem is by finding the correct ROM...So you better hope for one good Samaritan that has the same device, help you to back it up & upload it for you... :fingers-crossed:

Use this tool here by Russian Grand Master rua1... :good: It is able to backup full factory ROM out of a working MT65xx...

not only you, even my own head is spinning when i browse back my own thread...

    Point taken...

Bro, use google, a quick search & i found it here...
    alamak_zps2e31ed77.gif

Pray hard its the same ROM for your device...
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the rest of the guys here...
There is no one to blame except yourself for not googling more info before you start modding this & that... :cowboy:

Many has pm me & i can't help b'cos i don't have your Factory ROM as simple as that...

My final advice to those that cannot find your Factory ROM is that you forget about the whole unbricking process here & get yourself a new device...
    ag_zps1e5a29ec.gif

MT6589 are super cheap nowadays... Having said that, pls get a branded MTK device where you can get the Factory ROM from their web-page...

if you intent to stick to cheap MTK devices then make sure you backup your Factory ROM using Master Shifu rua1's MTK Droid Root & Tools the moment you got your device...

    Cheers...
