I got htc Chacha few days ago, and Dailer problem is one of the biggest problems of this "smart" phone.

I tried to Root it and recovery it into 2 different firmwares (ROM) of Hexgore and Void 1.6 Asia, but Dailer is still want to be my phone's best friend
I also tried to fix this problem by some recommendation like disabling features in Sound Setting, turn on USB debugging. However, Dailer process always appears on top of Battery use after making call or receiving call

Any solution until now, plz? Can CM7 ROM solve it ?

Once again: The dialer is not the problem at all. The battery usage statistics are crap no mather which app you take.

For example: When either a frozen camera or the gps signal widget drowned my battery, the statistic said "display". But you have to find the real battery consumer and stop it.

Yes, I'd say that CM7 consumes less battery than the stock ROM, especially when you actually use the phone for something.

You could also try some CPU Tools (if you know what you are doing), but you will need root anyway to improve your battery life.

I didnt face to this prob in CM7. In this rom, sometime when u turn of display, the Display process will be on top ( >90% battery). But after u use ur phone, the % change ( it decreases normally). Wit me the Display process decrease to 49% after 30 mins using my phone to install and use some apps

Back to 2 ROM i mentioned, the Dailer always on top and show the very-high percent of using battery, whenever u use any apps. That's why i think it was a problem. If no call or receiving call, everything's ok.

Wit CM7 or SuperOSR u can optimize CPU wit intergrated Tool (Setting) built in. Its great! However, in newest SuperOSR, the battery icon is disappear on status bar and i dont know how to make it showed.
CM7 does not contain any Google Service, it is the main reason to increase perfectly ur battery life, inst it

Well, never trust the battery statistics in Android.

For example:
With the HTC Chacha stock ROM, always "Dialer" was on top.
With SuperOSR, always "Display" was on top.

Still I had some other app that was responsible for draining the battery. I froze it with App Quarantine, the battery now lasts twice as long as before and I still have Display on top. But the display definately wasn't the problem.

I also noticed that the battery drains very quickle with the Stock ROM if you actually use your phone. In SuperOSR the perfomance of the apps is slightly better while battery lasts longer during usage of the same apps. Don't know what the reason is, but I think that SuperOSR is better optimized than the standard ROM. However: The real reasons won't show up in the battery statistics...

If you are using any ROM based on stock and the dialer bug is hitting you, I have found that switching on the speaker (even if briefly) during all calls will prevent the bug from happening (with senors off).

Maybe battery statistics are not to be trusted, but the battery will certainly last longer this way...

Well, Mr.Hexgore saw some post of me in other thread and he promise to fix dailer problem this week. In my opinion, his ROM is quite perfect for most of Chacha's user (wit or without dailer fix).

I will try to use the App Quarantine, now im in CM7. Still feel good wit this ROM.
