Anyone else have an issue NOT being able to boot to recovery using this ROM??? It just won't work for some reason... Just keeps vibrating as long as I hold the buttons... Using CWM v5813 recovery tho if that makes the difference?!?!

I've had that happen a time or two, particularly after restoring a nandroid backup. I just reflashed CWM via Rom Manager and everything was back to normal.

I thought some of these new devs would be able to whip something up with all the mods and such...

Please don't exclude whitehawkx and mr. X

But of course they are...Whitehawkx busy with AOKP while Mr. X is busy with CM9. You are baby sitting 3 ROMS. We are just hoping you can pull it off, even the fact that you still have a life and 3 ROMS at work plus work :)

Unrooted to grab the update, thought I was going to leave it unrooted until official ICS dropped, but after using your roms I can't stand being stock! I have everything ready to re-root as soon as you do your magic on the new release.

Same here! I've been running stock for two days already, although it seems fast but no where close to what DW is. I miss ICS though lol...

Yeah the stability on this stock ROM isn't bad, it's the battery life that really sucks. And I also miss ICS, but I'm too dependent on my phone for the little quirks all the leaks still have. Hopefully Tmo will just push out the damn update soon so we can just move on with a nice stable ICS build!

on my first day I got 9 hrs and 2:45 of screen on time. Day two, 12hrs and 4:45 of screen on time. Still doesn't compare to what I used to have on this ROM (DW).
I'm already rooted though just keeping it stock for now. I froze a lot of crap a already.

Say, Dev TDJ, when Darkside UVLDE arrives, will it be Digital Warfare 2.8, or a standalone Darkside ROM?

Had a weird reboot running 2.6 today the screen went black and it vibed twice then turned back on with no startup screens but it did the usual auto update of time and date and scanning the sd card.

This is my favorite rom for my S2. Now I have a sensation to add to my collection and I must say this phone sadly seems just a good as the s2 other then display. The camera is a hell of about better in low light.

Thanks, DerekJay. I wanted to comment that this rom is great. However there still is a problem with the MMS still showing 1/2 the screen and small. It is weird, however, that the file size is still showing large as if normal (minimal compression) for example its showing 158kb for one pic I sent someone. But when I go to review it (click on it) it's small and pixelated--as if around 8-15kb like on a stock T989 rom. However the message properties show its a large file size. With ICS, MMS pics show full screen and sharp as if viewing directly from your phones internal memory. Can you address/look into this some how?

BTW, I donated last night $5 =)

I highly doubt any complaints about bugs in versions that are not the current/latest version of the rom are going to be addressed.

Upgrade to the newest version (2.7) and then if you still have issues you can post about them.

Thanks for the donation. When running this rom I didn't have issues with mms pixelated. If you could upload a screen shot so maybe I can understand better.

    • KL1 Android 2.3.6
    • Deodexed (Thanks @raycaster3)
    • CIQ Free
    • Touch or Touchless - included in one ROM - available with flag
    • DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE - available with flag
    • Blurry MMS fixed (@TDJ)
    • MMS over WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • 14 toggle quickpanel w/ quickpanel settings app (@lidroid)
    • Extended Power Menu
    • Zip align on boot

    • Volume Wake
    • Fixed Kernel info in 'About' settings
    • Removed uneeded apps aka "BLOAT"
    • BLN support for STOCK messaging app
    • BLN support for "most" other apps
    • SIP over 3g/4g
    • Modified Stock Browser
    • Modified TW Launcher

    Working:
    • DATA
    • MMS
    • WIFI
    • WIFI CALLING
    • MMS OVER WIFI/WIFI CALLING
    • GPS
    • BLUETOOTH
    • WIRELESS TETHER
    • USB TETHER

    Known Issues:
    • You tell me...

    TOUCH Includes:
    -Default install with no flags
    • TouchWiz UI
    • All stock Samsung apps

    TOUCHLESS Includes:
-Installed using '-notw' flag at end of file name
    • Removes TouchWiz UI
    • Zeam Launcher
    • Removes most Samsung apps

    Add flags to filename:

An adaptation of @waydownsouth's script, I have modified and created a script that allows for flexibility with how I can create and user can install a ROM. *PLEASE READ* this next section carefully and only proceed with a full understanding of what you are about to do. Ask any questions within the thread before doing so...

    Available flags:
    • -wipe
    • -notw
    • -twmod
    • -nobatt
    • -volwake
What SUPER DARKSIDE WIPE flag does:
    • -wipe = A full wipe that is much more through and is HIGHLY suggested over any wipe options in recovery menu. It will also format partitions to EXT4 (NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA! DOESN'T TOUCH SD CARD/EMMC!)
    • -notw = (No TouchWiz - TOUCHLESS) This will remove the TouchWiz UI and mostly all Samsung apps and Widgets. I left some of the more requested apps in. By not adding this flag you will get a STOCK KL1 Build.
    • -twmod = Installs a 5x4x5 modified TW Launcher. (See screen shot below)
    • -nobatt = Completely disables the 100% battery pop-up and notification.
    • -volwake = Enables volume buttons to wake the device (Just as power button)
If no -wipe flag is added to the end of file name it will not wipe...

Adding flags to the file name:

    If default file name is:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ.zip[/B]

To perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

To flash a TOUCHLESS ROM and perform a SUPER.DARKSIDE.WIPE by adding -notw and -wipe flag to end of file name:
    Code:
    [B]DARKSIDE.DIGITAL.WARFARE_v2_TDJ[B][COLOR="red"]-wipe-notw[/COLOR][/B].zip[/B]

Get IT??? Its as simple as adding available flag to the end of the file name.

*PLEASE NOTE* The file name must also contain no spaces or else it will not work!!

    Kernel Info:
    • Kernel base: 2.6.35.14
    • Included Version: DARKSIDE X v2 RC2 *UNRELEASED* - lets keep it that way for now...
More info found in my other thread [HERE]

What i am am about to say is real talk. v2.6 is going to update to my new v3 kernel. I rebased off the latest skyrocket source that was released in the end of February. If you don't things could get and more smooth, snappy, and more battery efficient.. you're in for a treat! I also will be including a script that can set a predefined profile, you may have seen screen shots I have posted. No eta on release so don't ask.. not sure what other changes, if any, will be included.

I also have to say that this board is in rough shape. A lot people think I like to "troll" these boards and cause drama. I just want to clear this up and let people know that I am only looking out for the better of the community. A lot of people here don't really know a lot of the technical sides of android and our device. I really hate to see people get screwed over by someone that really doesn't have a clue but needs to try and feel important on xda. I am honestly looking out for our community and try to weed out the garbage as best I can. I don't care what people think of me and I don't care what people say. I do what I say and say what I do. I have contributed plenty to this board and never leave you guys hanging. Honestly outside team kang there hasn't been much actual development since I migrated over here. I appricate that people are eager to learn, but its a damn shame the ego that comes along with having your own thread...

With v2.6 I think its going to be time to take a break because honestly, **** is ridiculous over here. OK vent over... carry on my dudes
