Been out all day long... So here are the answers for the questions (hope I didn't miss anyone :p)

For the kernel with BIGMEM, I'd suggest Trinity T11 for most available RAM (387 MB) and stability (not too much overclocked), however, all the Txxx-NS-CM9-230312 builds do not support init.d script :/ So you may want to try Air kernel instead. Lol basically just try your favorite kernel :D

Tjeeez, again it shows only numbers when someone calling or sending a message :/
this thing is gonna make me change to a diffrent rom i think. It's really annoying
Sorry to hear that :( Now I guess you'd want to report the bug in MIUIAndroid Bugs section... I think they're currently forwarding all bug reports to Xiaomi.

no, i want to edit the value of the auto backlightbright like cm9.
do this rom include the founction?
Whoops, sorry for misunderstanding :p And no, MIUI still doesn't have this option yet. But you can always edit framework-res.apk :)

Is this based on IMM76D
I guess you'd have got the answer by now... But to be clear, the answer is YES. It is based on IMM76D from @evilisto.

I flashed airkernel 3.8(only voodoo colors) and the color seems to be a bit more darker. is that normal? its fine for me though.
or should i install the other one?

sorry for the newbish question
Hmm, no idea... IMO, it shouldn't caused by the ROM :\

I don't like MIUI ROMs but Kong (and bedalus) make me really want to try this ROM. A language pack and this ROM would be so perfect. We just need to wait for the translations from the international MIUI communities ;)

I was not able to recompile odexed ROM. The resources were not adding. I think because of the part of resources were inside odex files.

Are you sure that odexed ROM is right? It's fast sure but you can't mod it like deodexed.

did you deodex the ROM?

Use this tool to deodex it (Windows)

Make sure you get the right custom bootclass or it won't work! (look in init.rc)

kong hasn't re-odexed framework-res ;) i think it's because it'll cause issues with upcoming lang pack . he cheated . lol ( kidding ok )

& About using wifi in market - its so annoying . can't download some apps , when the dialog box pops up ( allow download with data ) , download stops with a error
Just downloaded temple run , n7player via google due to that :|

Have you tried going into downloads > settings and turning off the download prompt? I had the same problem with my port but I turned that prompt off and it worked

From my understanding, the odex file contains only smali code. If you want to modify that then basically you'll need to deodex it first like @fergie716 said. Mind telling what modifications you are doing so maybe I can help?

Lol, I just leave them like the official MIUI does. Besides I don't see classes.dex in there so I think they cannot be odexed :D

Yeah it's kinda annoying... One of the first things I do after a fresh install is doing what @fergie716 suggested :p

I had my own script to deodexing roms (I have ubuntu) but since MIUI 2.2.x it won't deodex properly, and I gave up deodexing, didin't have time and patience to make it work :p

Now I'm sticking with miuiandroid roms which are deodexed.

I just wanted to make my language pack to and try your 4.0.4 MIUI ;)
When I launched my script for building lang packs it decompiled but when recompiled I got warning that cannot find resources. With the same parameters I launched miuiandroid rom as a base and it worked like usual. Your previous rom also worked. Just this odexed version is not working.

But.. is it necessary to leave odexed rom here Kong? Its already fast and smooth ;)
Now its harder to make lang packs :)

what's the point with init.d? what is it used for? any of your mod, or what else?

65 fps blue version , since i have a 9023 , its useless to use the voodoo colors

362MB total ram free . not a lot comparing Trinity's . but really need touchwake when in the office . no time to press power button to wake the screen ;)

Hi Kong,

Glad to see the the bigmem youtube issue I brought up with Trinity kernel has been resolved now. :)

I'm in the camp of battery life over performance so I run with the 880MHz 220MHz bus TEUV Trinity kernel. With my moderate uses of about 2.5hrs screen time, 3G always on, BLN always on, my phone lasted 24hr.

Hadn't seen that much run time in a looong while since Gingerbread, but this time the phone is running on a very graphical MIUI interface with apps loaded.

    FAQ
I always get a reboot when mounting USB storage?
There's a bug in MIUI 4 with app2SD. If there is an application installed on SD card and you try to mount the USB storage, MIUI will crash. An example of such application is XDA app. Currently a workaround is to move the application to phone's internal storage by going to Settings > Apps > USB Storage, select the application and click "Move to phone" button. (Note that you may get a hot reboot) After that, do a normal reboot before trying to mount USB storage. This problem was fixed in MIUI 2.2.17.

Can you translate this ROM to <language>?
No I cannot translate it. But if you can provide a link to a translated MIUI 4 ROM (latest version is preferred), I can grab the translation from there and include it in this ROM.

I get an orange text bubble near notification bar saying "New notification received bla bla bla" and I cannot use my keyboard anymore?
It is MIUI way to introduce some features of their ROM on first installation. Just swipe down the notification area and clear any notifications there. After that your keyboard should work properly.

Why shouldn't I install a language pack from different version of MIUI?
A language pack is basically all system applications and frameworks with translation added to them. If you install a language pack from a different (e.g. older) version, it means you're running older applications and frameworks against newer libraries, modules, etc. It may work if you're lucky, but the worst that could happen is your phone won't be able to boot properly and you will have to re-flash the ROM.

What is Auto-dim backlight? (quoted from Peter Alfonso's FAQ)
Unfortunately, automatic brightness in stock ROMs is only half functional. To further explain, automatic brightness will ONLY get brighter, not dimmer, depending on your surroundings. For example, if you were to be reading a Droid-Life article on your device outside in bright sunlight, your screen would be very bright. If you continued to read (leaving your screen on the entire time) while you walked into your house which is very dark because you left the lights off, the screen would remain being very bright. With the "Auto-dim backlight" setting enabled, your screen would be able to dim back to the appropriate level when you walked into your dark house.
