WiFi problems

I have been having wifi problems the last couple of weeks and getting worse. The weird thing is that my phone is showing a very strong WiFi signal but it is has a terrible connection, is slower than 2g and often won't even load simple web pages. I have searched around and found the hardware WiFi problem but it seems like this should be showing a weak signal.

Could this be the problem here or perhaps this is software related?

You should give more information. Are you using a custom rom? Custom kernel etc.

Agree with Lady. Also, have you tested this with different wifi routers,and if yes, do they all have this issue? Rebooting the router often solves these issues.

OK more info. I was using Renovate ROM 1.1 final. I tried with stock, XM and NCX kernel. I have now restored my phone completely to unrooted stock. I am running hboot 1.39 and 3.14.401.31 build.

Problems are persisting. The only constant in the whole scenario is the build. I have full WiFi signal and barely functional and no speed. Nexus 7 and Laptop are working perfectly.

I have just reset my router and it seems to have made a difference. So hopefully that will last.
