is anyone else having severe lag with the Samsung Galaxy Gio ?

I am having lag specially with the touchwiz launcher and the mms.apk

When I use Go Launcher Ex and Go SMS Pro (which can be persistent in memory), I have a smooth phone. But if I use the default stuff, everything lags and it slower than hell...

Does anyone have a solution for me

?

Download = signed_GT-S5660_Auto_Deodexed_Gio-Aiv1.1.zip + signed_GT-S5660_Boot_Gio-Aiv1.1 ("HOW TO INSTALL MANUAL INCLUDED")

Code:

1. Place this 2 files zip into your sdcard
2. go to recovery mode by press Home and power when Device off
3. update with [B][U]signed_GT-S5660_Auto_Deodexed_Gio-Aiv1.1.zip[/U][/B] First !!! 
DO NOT REBOOT ( IF REBOOT YOU MUST QUICKLY PRESS HOME AND POWER AGAIN TO GOTO RECOVERY MODE )
4. update again with [U][B]signed_GT-S5660_Boot_Gio-Aiv1.1.zip[/B][/U]
5. wipe data and cache and then click reboot now

click Select Effect Strength
select Extreme
click Enable
click Select Ppreset
select Flat
close DSPmanager
goto Setting and Set Volume your device

6. Run Anim Mod application

click Allow
click Fly in & flip ( it will download )
click reboot

A2sd support and i will jump on to trying your Rom. Sounds interesting but more interesting is the fact that you have put on so many 3rd party apps, would like to see how it performs with them on board.

any partition tool would do the job, just use 4k clusters.

Yea man, simpligio good in both visually and performamce . Best rom yet

Btw can anyone tell me if link2sd will at least ensure 100+mb internal memory?

No, using link2sd will still eat up your internal memory a little bit.... but better than native app2sd..

1. download the patch_cutom_bootanimation.zip file bellow.
2. unzip the files to a new folder on your SDcard called: patchfiles
3. Open root explorer
4. go to /sd-card/patchfiles
5. press menu button and select multi-select
6. select all files without bootanimation.zip
7. press now on the bottom, copy
8. press now 2 times on back button
9. go to /system/bin/
10. press now paste and replace the files.
Now you need only place the bootanimation.zip in his directory
11. go back to your patchfile folder on your SD-card
12. copy bootanimation.zip and place him in /system/media/

13. reboot your device and watch your brand new bootanimation!

Did this and the phone just loops in boot animation...

Had to do a factory reset...

I Installed giopro v1.2 and all good. but it is installed in the new market which is sh.t... How do I old market?

a2sd

having trouble with wifi to work after i flash giopro1.2 or simpligio. turns on once but not again till i hard reset or turn off phone then it works then it stops and says error

These roms are for the 5660 not 5660m. There's one rom for the 5660m here;

Yesterday I tried the new firmware KQG with Gio AVI updates but failed as new fw does not support a2sd or might i did something wrong.
Then i tried SimpliGio 1.2 but my phone went into boot loop.
Then finally went back to my favorite GioPro 1.3 and flashed the compass update.. working like it is always.. gr8.

Bloody newbie questions

Hi there.

I have the factory default software on my GT-S5660, Android 2.3.4, baseband S5660XXKQ5, Buildnumber Gingerbread.XXKQ6.

My internal memory is running out and I have to delete apps which sucks.

So, I rooted my phone and installed darktremor and Apps2SD Gui.

I used Partition Wizard as described here in the forum to get an 400MB ext2 partition next to the fat on my sd card.

Unfortunately Apps2SD tells me that there isn't enough space on the ext2 partition. In the Apps2SD system tab it shows that there is only 1MB of free space.

Sorry for the newbie questions:

1. Do I really have to flash my phone with one of the custom firmwares to move my apps from the internal memory to the sd card?

2. If I have to do that which firmware is the one that runs faster: simpligio or giopro 1.3?

3. If I wanted to use giopro 1.3. Can I use Odin to flash it directly or do I have to go through giopro 1.2?

If you use simpligio.v.1.2, you can use darktremor, but you need to upgrade the busybox version first, use a2sd_enabler script from ace forum, then install darktremor script from recovery mode...
I have tried it and it works flawlessly. But no a2sd gui support yet though
