[Q] To get a Note (again)

So my upgrade for Verizon has come and I haven't used it yet as I bought a Note 2 a while back off-contract. Now, I love the phone and everything but I am leaving Verizon in a matter of months for another carrier.

Is it crazy of me to get another one (for $99 w/ 2 year agreement) and sell it to pay the ETF and some extra cash? According to Ebay they're holding their value very well right now, on par with the iPhone 5 actually.

People do this quite often.

That being said, it is also one of the reasons that carriers used to justify the push for making the unlocking of bootloaders illegal.

How does buying a phone then terminating the contract early have an effect on unlocking bootloaders?

Wondering the same thing. They made sim unlocking illegal not boot leader and there's exceptions to that anyways.
