Hi :)

I've finished fully automatic flasher for Sony Tablet S!
There is no need any more to have shell in recovery!

Ladies & Gentlemen...
S.onyTablet.S [FLASHER] !

[What is this?]

S.onyTablet.S [FLASHER] will update your device firmware,
prerooted, 'rescue-backdoored', with init.d added,
and write permissions for ext-sdcard enabled,

All this automatically, you dont need to manual dl anything,
copy, recovery etc. Nothing. Just plug in your tab,
and run this tool :) It will automatically download needed
data. Its prepared with new prerooted fw versions:
  • Sony Tablet S: R5A 3g+wifi, R5A wifi only,
  • Sony Xperia Tab: R6B 3g+wifi, R6B wifi only, JB wifi only
  • Sony Tablet P: R5A

It will be updated with more in future releases.

Its region independent! Region is not important while flashing!

[Requirements]:

- root is required,
- adb debugging enabled,
- free space on internal storage,
- works with locked recovery :)

The tool will work for R5 users who can't use classic
custom prerooted fw, because of new recovery shell lock down.

So if you are on R5, then with this utility you will get prerooted R5A,
all this without recovery with just a single click :)

Everything you do at your own risk,
and DO NOT interrupt flashing!

What are further benefits of this tool?

- when Jelly Bean will be released - it will be based on new kernel,
which is inside hidden.img - to have working Jelly Bean you will have
to flash hidden.img also. Until now if you had locked recovery,
you had no chance to flash new prerooted fw.

Jelly Bean - we are ready for you ! :D

The only one condition - have root already on device.
So - if you've updated to stock R5A, then you can't root.
If you don't have root, then you can't use classic preroot method,
neither this new feature.

and again - warning - want to use this tool?
then DO NOT UPDATE to stock ota R5A!

Damn, it's first time when i not glad that i flashed pre-root... Wanted to help, but i have r1a recovery :)
Well, if it's works - it's awesome. Cause i've been thinking a lot about JB and 3.0 kernel - we can't stay any further on r1a recovery if we want JB...

It didn't replaced.I have rev.36 recovery. the flashed Hidden.img has 9622kb same as 4.0.3r1 i think. Everything goes perfect but now I'm fighting with loss of vendor app. I ve just realized that eg walkman refuses to open . wiping with recovery and settings didnt fix it . now I have basic apps eg gmail. Maybe its about changeing permissions in dataapp/vendor folders and install all from vendor.zip manually . Please post if you have same as me.

So, this seems to have worked great for me, but I'm not 100% sure. After the flash, my tablet still shows 4.0.3 (release5) in the settings, but it no longer sees an OTA system update as available.

After the reboot, it went through the "Android is upgrading" process, but nothing looked any different afterwards - about the only difference I could see was that it had lost the google account and settings in some of my apps...

Is this normal, or did something go wonky along the way here?

All right! Just as planned, you flashed new kernel, so it's why you had an "Android is upgrading"... Can you tell me your kernel version? I have some freezes, so I am thinking about flashing new recovery...

yes.... thats the thing if forgot about :) vendor is ok, just /datapp/app is old one.
its simple thing, just wait i will make a fix :)

To everybody!:
DO NOT touch vendor files on your own!

dear condi thanks again, my tab is wifi only, can i flash this firmware? is this prerooted wifi only firmware?
Its based on fw with wifi and 3g, and it will work for both devices, no matter :)

@condi

Can you make such thing for Xperia S also.
It will be greatly appreciated :)
Yes I will :) just don't update to new OTA, stay on rooted fw!

SOON I WILL RELEASE VERSION WITH NEW FIRMWARES,
AND ALSO WITH XPERIA TAB FWS :) !

But is it complete? I used [FLASH] and several stock apps (e.g., Remote Control) appear to be missing, even after wiping tablet twice.

BTW, I have tried to donate a couple of times, but the PayPal site you're using will not allow transfer from USA. :(

My kernel is currently at:
2.6.39.4
integ-build@build5 #1

I guess I can't really tell what updated and what didn't, or if this worked like it was supposed to, or if I need to do something else?

    Recovery (rev.30)<3e>

Can I reset tablet to factory settings from Recovery mode?
Root will be erased or not?

Do i need to update recovery with FLASH hidden.img from this stock fw version or R1A's hidden.img [last shell-enabled]?

    1. yes you can wipe/reset to factory settings - root will remain :)
    2. you've got rev.30 (still adb enabled) recovery - no need to update.
