Normally, I wouldn't hesitate to factory reset, but because of the complicated nature of root/updates losing root/bricking devices, I want to be sure before I do this.
I have a Verizon Moto X, on 4.4, rooted, and have frozen the MotorolaOTA app so I don't get update notifications. I have noticed some weird behavior with my device, and just general instability, so I want to factory reset, but keep root. Can I just go into settings and hit factory reset, and have everything be ok (keep root, no brick, no update)? Should I go through the whole process of downgrading back to 4.2.2, rooting, updating, like I did when 4.4 came out? Basically, what is the best way to reset my device, stay on 4.4, and keep root?
