I'm concerned, because I have always had much smoother drain 3-5 mA (or lower) with occasional spikes.
Not as regular as these.

Yes, 3G on. The rest (WiFi, bluetooth, GPS) off. All sync off.
No Sense-account.
I will try with wiping dalvik to see if I can get a more regular drain :)

From a data analysis point of view, your peaks do not mean alot. What is more important is your average consumption over a set period of time. People are getting too worried about these small peaks; its becomming a illness lol Also bear in mind that these apps are partial waking the device to take the measurement and write the log - this takes power (although minimal).

In addition to the above comment.
There is no reliable way to record battery drain at a specific point. Even the average over the course of a few hours it's likely to be flawed. One night you might get 10hours of all -1ma readings with a 4%drop and the next -2ma with spikes all over and a total 10% drop, but due to the hundreds of factors and sheer inaccuracy of the recordings it's not fair to say any changes between the nights had a negative affect.
A simple test to check this to add a music widget to ur home screen, then you can play a game whereby you pay a track for a few seconds then wait for the current widget to update and then repeat without causing any spikes and then do the same with half the play time but cause many spikes. It's all a matter of timing. Intuitively you know which is casing higher drain.
To summarize current watching is a disease that serves a purpose only when the drain is noticeable without a current monitor, even then it's results need to be averaged over many nights and taken with a pinch of salt.

Swyped on transparent XDA app.

Looool I'm at work at the minute so better be quick, what I needed to know was that if I use radio s-off and eng s-off to flash a radio, but the radio is not good for my phone, how would I change the radio? I don't know how to downgrade, so wondered if I could just flash any other radio on top of the one I already have?? Sorry if it may sound silly but its my first Android phone :-0
Thanks

Fastboot is the command prompt right? Where u go into your computer and type the commands?? Also is there certain radios NOT to use? Cos I'm on branded Vodafone just wondered if say an Orange radio or unbranded radio would do any harm??
Thanks again

Yes, fastboot is on command prompt. If you have root, radio s-off and eng s-off and CID then you can flash any radio.....

so everybody seems happy with the latest radio and standby drain but what about usage drain? When running wifi and browsing, does it consume more then previous radios?

I did a test myself and it seemed to drop 2% every 5 minutes which is bad for me, now I think it might be related to me not wiping battery stats at 100% when restoring my rom but not sure...will give it a shot later.

When i listen to music about an hour it uses about 6% now. Last radio however did 9%. Overall it seems to use op alot less battery and handle having no signal way better.

Last question mate, u been a great help, would u suggest I try my original stock radio first before trying a completely different radio? Or is it always best/recommended to use the newest/latest radio??
Thank you :)

You should use the radio recommended with your rom (whichever you are flashing), all the rom's recommend radio which should be use with them....but to start it is not required to change the radio, you can flash the ROM and see if its working fine....if you face any issue related to radio like call drop, weak wifi then go on and flash a new one.....

No solid line which one is a best radio, use it and see which one suits your rom...

OK, here's sth interesting.

When I first flashed the newest radio I am fairly confident that it was identified as 12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3 under system information.
However, a couple of days later I check again and now it's saying 12.48.60.23P_26.08.04.07_M3.

What's more, in the beginning it would get a medium-to-poor HSPA signal in my room whereas now I get a really good (87-93 dBm) GPRS signal.
What gives?

Sounds like ur not really sure what ur doing. So maybe u need to read a bit more.

Anyways all you need to do is go into fastboot mode via volume down/power key. Then open command promt on your pc and type fastboot flash radio radio.img

Proudly swyped with my HTC DESIRE HD XDA App.

When i was on Revolution 3.3

Radio_12.41.60.19_26.06.04.14_M_Test

was showing as U, now with Coredroid 5.1 it's showing as P also i had

12.48.60.23P_26.08.04.07_M3

from the start with Coredroid 5.1 and i think it's RIL related.

I would like to see some RIL files around so it would be possible to push them on each rom and match with the radio.

Flashing radio is A VERY RISKY OPERATION and may brick your device if something goes wrong; you may also not be able to flash a previous version if the newer one isn't performing well.

S-OFF bootloader is required to successfully flash any radio. The stock bootloader doesn't support fastboot commands.
Radio S-OFF is highly reccomended, expecially if you're willing to try the latest radio files (> 26.04.02.17). By being Radio S-OFF you'll have the chance to restore previous ROMs and Radio files.

    RIL - RADIO INTERFACE LIBRARIES
What is a RIL? Quoted from jkoljo's [RIL] Radio Interface Libraries thread: RIL is a library that acts as a bridge between your device's phone functions and the radio firmware in your device's communications chip (radio). Matching radio and RIL is always a good combination when you think of signal stability and battery consumption. That is why you should flash a matching RIL when you flash a new radio.

Flashing RILs only work for Sense based ROMs and CM7 ROMs > nightly built 57. ATM MIUI doesn't support HTC RILs.

Please refer to the [RIL] Radio Interface Libraries Thread for a comprehensive list of all the RILs released for the Desire HD

what is a radio, whats the difference between this and a ROM for example?

Correct me if im wrong anyone...

ROM is the operating system(Android) , its the image that you place on the flash memory that contains the various parts of the OS including the kernel.

RADIO in your phone is another computer in its own right and has its own CPU and RAM controls the phone. Controls Main phone functions :) a radio is a number of "radios" really GSM- Phone, GPS, Bluetooth, WIFI, its seperate because you cant have a rogue application effecting the performance of the phone. you cant have some live wallpaper causeing the phone to drop out because it is hogging CPU cycles!

& then the Kernel is the core piece of code that boots on the hardware and then loads everything else, the kernel boots then runs init, which can do several things.

    QUICK FLASH PACKAGES FOR WINDOWS
Quick Flash Packages are zip packages which will flash the desired radio in a simple and easy way.
QFP are intended for users who have already flashed a radio before and know how to handle the whole procedure and the risks involved.
During the flashing procedure, all the steps are being explained and the user will need to confirm each action.
If you should experience any weird behaviour or should get any error response by your command shell, please close the window and report it to me.

    [REQUIREMENTS]
    - Your device is turned on and is not in bootloader or recovery mode
    - Battery is at least at 50%
    - HTC drivers or Google Drivers installed and working
    - Your device is recognized under Device Manager;
    - USB Debugging Mode is enabled;
    - Radio S-OFF has been performed;
    - ENG Hboot is installed.

If you're not sure or you do not meet them, please follow the "How to flash a radio.IMG - tried and tested" guide by leith51 and flash the radio by following the steps suggested by that guide.

    [HOW TO INSTALL]
Unpack the zip folder to your desktop folder and run the QuickRadioInstall.cmd script which will start the flashing procedure.
Follow the steps shown on screen.

    [FIRST RUN]
    - QFP will first check if your device is recognized by ADB. This will make sure the drivers are installed and working.
    - QFP will then reboot your device into Fastboot/bootloader mode
    - QFP will then flash the radio, showing the results
    - Once done, QFP will reboot your device
