[Q] Can I Use HBoot and my microSD Card to Recover All the Data in Internal Memory?
Admittedly, I am a noob, so I apologize if my question is ridiculous. I don't care if my phone ever works again. It is old, and it was buggy. I guess I should have been more worried by the bugs, but it is my first smartphone and it didn't occur to me.
I need the data in internal memory. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, syncing has been routinely failing and there is about a month of data in the phone's internal memory that is not backed up anywhere.
Is it possible to load a data recovery program onto the microSD card and use hboot to force my phone to run it? All I want is for my phone to dump its internal memory to the microSD card. If this is possible, please direct me to the program and include instructions for how to use hboot to run it.
Other background information that might be useful:
Last night, my phone was stuck in a bootloop, so I re-seated the battery, left it powered off, and charged it overnight.
Starting this morning, when I try to power it up, it gets stuck on the screen "T-Mobile myTouch 4g" perpetually.
I can load hboot: GLACIER PVT SHIP S-ON HBOOT-0.89.0006.
When I attempt RECOVERY, I get a picture of my phone with a couple green arrows in a circle, surrounding a green up arrow. Then the screen goes blank, the phone vibrates 7 times, and is then completely unresponsive until I pull the battery again.
I have not tried a factory reset or flashing the PD15IMG.zip, because I don't want to overwrite any of my data. The data is more important than the phone.
I removed my microSD card and it seems to read without difficulty on my computer.
I will be so appreciative if this can work!
