It's a zip that you flash through custom recovery (CWM or TWRP), so you need to:
1- unlock bootloader (using HTCdev)
2- flash a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP),
------- fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
------- fastboot erase cache
3- get the rom.zip to your phone, one of three methods:
------- adb push
------- adb sideload
------- OTG cable
------- (or if you have a functioning ROM), then just copy/paste it to your "internal storage"
then flash it as if it's a custom ROM.
However the Guru Reset ROMs all contain "stock ROM" (odexed I think) and "stock recovery", which will put your phone pretty much back to stock, and will allow you to receive OTAs.
Before getting OTAs, it's really up to you if you want to go S-Off or not. PERSONALLY
, I would. Because it gives the chance of removing all the TAMPERED, RELOCKED, and other stuff, NOT TO MENTION, you can use a full RUU (exe) downgrade to return to 100% stock. (Basically a "get out of jail" card)
But then again YOU have to be comfortable with idea. If you are not, I can fully understand that; it's always personal preference.
