Hi

I m experiencing a really annoying lag on Home with your rom and Motley's kernel.
It takes 2 or 3 sec for switching on the screen when you press power button

Any clue ?

I have no 8.9er tablet, but I know that the launcher is laggy at the very beginning. But after dalvik-cache is build up and all background installations and setups are done it is good.
Not acceptable ( I know), as it seems that the touchwiz extensions (that Samsung build into the ROM) makes the launcher slow. But as long as there no ICS AOSP build available there is not much that can be done.

Hi

i m not using Touchwiz at all, I switched to ADW since the first start of my tablet.

This lag is new, I wasn t experiencing it with Overcome rom and it appears straight after installing yours
When my tab screen is off and I switch it on, it take 3 sec or more to display the unlock screen like.

It s really annoying and not usable

There is a thread in the P7100 Themes and Apps forum that takes out Touchwiz, but you I think its not updated for the newer ROM builds.
He changed a lot of system files to get AOSP look and get rid of touchwiz. But it seems its too difficult to update for all new tablets and ROMs that are coming out.

I was not aware that Pershoot is making P7300 Kernels. If there is one, then for sure you can use it. Pershoots P7500 Kernel works perfect with my ROM on my P7500 3G tablet.

Update V0.5b

[UPDATE]
Updated the ROM with small enhancements.
This update can be used only if you already have a Ganbarou GT V0.5a ROM installed. If not, please install first my ROM. This would be a Ganbarou GT V0.5a for Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 GT-P7300.

Changelog:

Added Recovery reboot to PowerMenu
Browser with UAstring options in the settings menu
6 ROM versions available for 10.1 (P7500), 10.1N (P7501), 8.9(P7300), with original Samsung icons and with AOSP icons
The bug with the mouse pointer not visible is fixed as well.
The versions with the Samsung icons have now the colored icons in the settings.
As a small add-on I included the Photo Browser coming from the Acer Icona tab. Really fast and fancy. Check the video on youtube.

But this is optional and the normal gallery is still available, isn't it? I don't like the Acer Iconia gallery because you don't have a good overview in folders with many pictures.

Yes, of course the original Gallery is still in.

And if you do not want the Acer Iconia and want to save space delete the following files out of the ZIP file before flashing:

/system/app/3DPhotoBrowser.apk
/system/lib/libaceralbum.so
/system/lib/libphotoflow.so

I've tried your rom. I installed the v0.5b rom and everything worked fine. Then I installed the Update file (with Samsung Icons) and then the rom was not usable anymore because after reboot I couldn't exit the lockscreen. The tablet just didn't recognize my finger on the touchscreen and I was stuck in the lock screen. I tried some reboots but always the same. Had to restore my stock backup then.

I am sorry for the problem, but I have no idea what happened. I switched between Samsung icons and AOSP icons several time without any problems.

If you prefer the Samsung icons, you could do the following:

Open the Ganbarou GT V0.5a ZIP file with WinZIP or 7Z (Do not extract it, just open it)
Open the update ZIP file with WinZIP or 7Z as well
Copy the system folder from the update ZIP file into the Ganbarou GT V0.5a ZIP file.
Close both files
Rename the Ganbarou GT V0.5a ZIP file into Ganbarou GT V0.5b and flash it.

I have the same issue. I've tried both update, with samsung icons and android icons. After every update and reboot the screen always rotate and i couln't exit lock screen.

It is because the Update is missing

This is necessary for the touchscreen on GT-P73xx.
