You can't have the whole hybrid engine on cm10.x and if you want to change app's dpi than you'll have to make use of xposed.
Cm11 currently doesn't support xposed so using it will break the system UI so that's a no for you
If you want a 4.4.x rom and can change dpi than go for slimkat (slim rom), it has xposed support
Or you always have another alternative is going for Paranoid Android 4.3
I personally recommend PA since I've used them before
