To get the battery percentage on the status bar icon push this to /system/framework/services.jar.

This version will also pulse the trackball while the screen is on.
White text version provided by RixKliq here.

Make sure the permissions on the file are the same as the original:
Code:
chmod 644 /system/framework/services.jar

After pushing the file, reboot for changes to take affect.
This is not my work, original code pulled from CM5.0.8 and merged in by me.

*Requires rooted and deodexed rom

I made a white text version and pushed it, just gave me the "unknown" battery icon status.

This services.jar also kills the TB Alert flash trackball while the screen is on mod.

I'm using evils latest rom and this worked great! only issue for me though is the battery icon in evils rom is white, and with the white percentage text it makes it hard to read, but I can still make it out if I look closely.
I used ninja morph. if you've never used it here's what to do after downloading ninja morph from market:
download services.jar zip from post above
using a file manager, navigate to the downloaded zip and extract it(this might not be necessary but not sure if ninja morph exacts for you)
open ninja morph
click new project
navigate to system/framework/services.jar and select it
there will be 2 files in ninja morph now
while still in ninja morph navigate to extracted files from the zip in this post and select each file to replace
push "finish project"
reboot (reboot took a long time, so be patient)
done

well it seems to work except it garbles the "clear all" text on the button under notifications.

Great, but it changes my clock text clolor of status bar to white, and my status bar color is light grey, so i cant see the time.
