i am trying to port rom to g1 but i dont have g1 myself if there is any volunteer to try it ?????

nop i have been trying to port from long time
this one is with great improvement if u agree i will send u tomorrow

okay looking it over now, update in a bit
Edit: get an instal error:
E:Error in /sdcard/test1.zip
(status 0)
installation aborted.
file size seems large, ill try cmtd and update again, also did you sign this zip?
Edit: still the same error after cmtd, ill try and sign your zip and see if that works

yeah it appeared to be signed, still messing around with your work, ill let you know how it works with another kernel. this appears to be gingerbread correct?
also if your to keep playing with it i think it needs to be slimmed down a bit

Customize roms for phone u have is easy the most common error u get is error 6 I to lost my g1 thanks to my brother (the lover boy). That's way I need someone else to test for me.
Porting Rom from one device to another is very difficult( u must be know that already specialy when u don't have the device on which ur porting )

I looked at your updater script and theres two things I noticed
Now, I may be wrong here, because you may know more than me...but...
1)It checks for the device "sapphire"...for the dream, you'd need to check for "trout" also
2)The mounts and formats aren't right...at all...for the dream...
Look at an existing G1 rom to get the right partition numbers and all...
And you also use erase_image to erase some partitions...
I would think that the erase_image for the previous device won't work for the dream

yeah any fixes you two can up with and ill test. i cant code but i do understand some of the build. what i see when i compare it to other g1 roms is more or less the same as what frankdrey is saying. i plan to go through this tonight some more and see what i can change to get my phone to except the flash. ill update in a few hours i hope...
