[Q] How to upgrade to MF3 on S4 with OTA issues?
I can really use some help in upgrading my AT&T Samsung Galaxy 4 running Android 4.2.2 SGH-i337 I337UCAMDL (kernel version 3.4.0-453947) to I33UCUAMF3 now that there is a way to root it.
My phone did not upgrade when AT&T sent out its OTA upgrade to MF3 some time ago, but instead showed some sort of error on my previously rooted (using Motochopper) S4.
I was pleased that this happened as I soon learned that the upgrade broke the root. I followed some directions found, I believe here, to keep any OTA from happening. These included change one file name to .bak, and freezing 2 or 3 other files. I put this information into a file for safe keeping on my computer, and, naturally, I now cannot locate the file no matter how I search for it. I might have deleted it. In any case, the phone would not OTA upgrade before anyway, so I would need a fix for that as well.
My installation is a little flaky with some apps seeming to start on their own occasionally, so I would now like to upgrade to MF3, and then root that.
Can someone instruct me on how to upgrade my phone to MF3 by either re-enabling and fixing OTA abilities, or by possibly locating and downloading MF3 onto my computer, moving it to my SD card, and install from there?
Many thanks from a 1st time poster.
