Tonight I needed to do work on twrp, and well fixed charging in recovery for good. I mean it this time... perma fixed it. No build up blah blah, my fixes should be in the next official TWRP build.
And yes it's back to the old wait 30-60seconds and it will "activate" at least it turns on now....

I've updated the op and put my download link in for the newest TWRP
it's version 2.8.7.0
It has the fixed battery. Battery will still take around 30-60seconds to initilize, live with it.

Flased and reflased your 2.8.7.0 and now battery show 90%+ (jump from 66% in 2.8.6.0 after 60 sec). Battery have had 36% before. Reboot system, battery show 90%! Only after second reboot, battery show correct (34% in this case).
In recovery show the same: 90%
2.8.6.0 the battery wasn't initializing so yeah It would show 66%, the 66% is a value taken from the kernel, I could set that to 0% and it would show you 0%
The other issue, no idea not seen it. Recovery + Rom show me the correct values constantly.

After flashing TWRP 2.8.7.0 something is wrong and I do not understand:
Battery show 55%, play my game (stick tennis) but after 8-9 min. receive the message "battery 0% - shutting down" (in normal mod this take max. 5-6 % battery). Plug-in charger and after 10 min. make the phone ON but surprise, battery show 90% and continue to charge. (TWRP show 90% all the time).

Then you have done something different, I have just shown you screenshots of my own device.
v2.8.7.0 here is nailed to 66% as always.

The battery doesn't start straight away!!! I know it works, so I wish people would stop telling me otherwise.

Just flashed this on mys sisters hox+ and can confirm that the battery charges and shows correct value in recovery
What doesn't work is led does not turn on while charging in recovery.
Feel free to contribute to it, this is not a big enough issue or bug for me the solo dev on this damned device to work on right now.

Sorry mate, don't get me wrong. I was very suprised that there is even someone who work on this device
. I just wrote what i've noticed and that is also not a problem for me (Who charges phone in recovery ?). Also I'm no dev, so I won't be much of help unfortunately but I'm glad that You are still doing something to keep this device alive. And now, i have just installed Your CM12 and configuring it wright now.
