Doe anyone know if the kernel for this ROM has been updated to avoid the brick bug issue?

Brick bug is depends on recovery and rom ( if both of them got the code that cause bug to firmware when flashing) to get bug activate. Therefore, if either one got bug it would not hurt your tablet (hint: bug not activate). I recommend you to upgrade your recovery (CWM or twrp) to latest version. That will do the job to prevent the bug.

Yeah it as my understanding that the bug occurred in the recoveries and kernels. I don't know if the kernel for this ROM has been patched, but I did flash cwm 6 just now which supposedly prevents the bug from happening.

Sorry for not making thing clear, kernel is in the rom therefore, it depends what kernel that rom developer put it in, I am sure that latest version of rom or kernel are safe.

I'd love for this to be updated, I've tried CM and PA but just don't like them as much.

if you all want to help test, so i can get this wrapped up for this tab:

4.1.2:
http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3015

please read the whole post.

2 major known issues to sort (listed).

the one where you hold the home button and see recent apps (this issue is not listed), if i'm not mistaken, you can remap the button in settings. ill see if i can make this default.
