Hello! I really dont know how to ask this, its a bit confusing, i have a dead pixel test app so i noticed blacker dots on black picture ! well it sounds stupid but i dont know how to say in other way. With the other pictures (green red white blue etc) doesnt appear anything. Its not app-related or image from the app because they appear on black wallpaper too but only on low light enviroment (at night). Does anyone know something about this?

L.E. i did a search and found that is a amoled display common problem. Somebody else have this problem too?

Default LCD - erroneous line at the top of my screen

I have an erroneous line at the very top of my LCD (see attached pic, look at the very top of the display where there is a horizontal line, this line is actually a little more obvious in some other display situations, sorry for not having a better quality picture).

Is my LCD broken? Hardware issue? I am okay with this line being there forever, but I don't want it to spread. Will this issue spread?

My soft buttons also have a purple tinge to their after touch animations, so, I am wondering if my whole LCD screen is crumbling slowly.

It is under warranty, but rooted etc., and I don't want to go through the hassle of reverting back everything to stock and send it for repair if the LCD line issue won't spread.

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

So it is a hardware issue? It will definitely get worse or it might get worse?

Thanks for your inputs.

It's a production issue.. we assume that the nexus LCD was not properly calibrated.. that's why a lot of galaxy nexus owner either replaced their LCD more than twice or sold it and bought different phone..and Yes it will get worst.. give it 3 to 6 months and you will notice a huge difference.. What I suggest.. have that replace..until you get a better screen or until Samsung give up and they will offer you to swap or upgrade your phone. Mine they replaced it for galaxy note 2 but after getting it,i sold it to my friend.. Coz I don't want to deal with the amoled anymore..though their LCD is fine..

If it was a production issue, wouldn't this line have been there right from the start? Or does the LCD slowly degenerate/break down over a few months?

I have dropped this phone a few times and I was thinking this issue was because of all those drops. :-| Maybe it is not. I really hadn't noticed this line at the top till this week, so I am not sure if it was always like this right from the start.

My phone is still in warranty, will Samsung replace my LCD if I send it to them? Will the replaced LCD have issues too if this is some H/W production issue?

Thanks!

Yes it will give same issues too ..after few weeks or months of using it .. doubt it if it came from a drop.. they will if your phone has no marks on drop.. I drop mine too but before I ask for replacement I bought a replacement for the housing to cover the drop after a month that's when I ask for replacement.. Good luck..
