Hi there,
Do I need any special preparation for this? Such as a new kernel or open bootloader? I have an ordinary arc, rooted. Refalshed with official generic 2.3.4, .56 baseband, build .0.42.
Or I just have to follow your instructions?
Multumesc
there is no need for separate flashing steps 4-6, now when you have "no final verification check".I wrote a step by step guide on how to install ICS on LT15i here:

Sorry that I didn't wrote another post. Try to clean the "media storage" (don't know the right translation) in the all apps list and wait 10-15 minutes. If you can't change the messaging sound, go directly to messaging -> options and choose the file.
Flashtool Update to be applied over vers 0.6.9.0 or 0.6.9.1
When applying it, replace any files from your installation with the ones in the update.zip
Once applied, in Help -> About you will have 0.7.0.0 version.
To flash ICS ftf, check the "No Final Verification Check" box. Check this box only for ICS bundles as I don't know how it would behave with GB bundles.

Hi !!
A friends have a Xperia with a Xperia Arc with locked bootloader...
can he flash with flashtool this update without any problems ?
sorry if the questions has already asked :s
is this for arc s?
i have just received mine and in holland the ics update isn't yet available,
so thinking of unlocking bl and than flashing this....
ow never mind, jut saw the file name
doesn't work,
i get this error: (like justkiddinghere )
ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="MEMORY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="HASH_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Final data verification failed";
Edit:
To all people with this problem:
this step is crucial: To flash ICS ftf, check the "No Final Verification Check" box!
Then you are doing something wrong. This is compeltely useless: tried it tiwce and both ended up in a brick!
Anyone who is getting error, do it this way :
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/04/1...roid-4-0-ics-update-to-your-xperia-arc-guide/
Even if u get an error in the end, it is just that it wasn't able to delete your data ..
plz don't make me responsible it this bricks your phone ..
press thanks if i helped

FlashTool showed an error too but I ignored it and continue flashing. Voila, the device boots.
Here are very extra careful steps to get it working:
- Start up FlashTool.
- Get into Flashmode.
- Choose the ICS ftf and use these settings:
- After that, flash again with these settings:
- Finally this:
- Unplug device, turn it on.
- Enjoy ICS!
Tested on arc (LT15a). Ignore those errors because they show up after flashing a sin file.
