well but froyo got released at least in most locations, so I think we'll get gingerbread as well.

yea, we'll see, but i can bet that it won't be released or even leaked by the end of the june. Lets hope im wrong

afaik froyo have some serious security issues and all others below.

I had also written a mail to samsung india.They replied that they dont have any information about it.

I've sent amother e-mail to samsung, just to be on the save side. They still say gb is in development, but now they don't give a date for the release. So it might take some time untill we see an official gb rom for G3

Sorry to break your bubble, but do NOT expect Samsung to release another upgrade for our mobile. But do not be disheartened. If you are keen on running Gingerbread on your phone, head over to this thread. A couple of developers are right now in the process of porting 2.3 (CyanogenMod) for us, and have even released an Alpha version. Feel free to give it a try .

I'm still of the opinion that if samsung doesn't plan to release GB for the G3 they wouldn't keep telling us that they're going to do it.
I'll give the cyanogenmod port a try as soon as it's beta
Let's see what happens first, a GB rom from samsung or CM port for G3 reaching beta
I sent an email to samsung regarding the gingerbread firmware version for our phone. Here is what they replied to me.

Regarding your case, kindly note that there has been a release to the
Gingerbread Android Firmware version, only for the Samsung Galaxy S
phones, contracted with Vodafone, and the Open Market ones.
Please note if your phone isn’t eligible for the upgrade, due to the
above reasons, then you will need to note that the Firmware upgrade is
still under development, and we greatly appreciate your patience on this
matter. Our development team is currently working on improving the
operation of the Firmware version.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this incident.

we will be more than happy to help.

sometimes I come to believe that the samsung support has no idea whats going on in their own company...
when galaxy fit with 600mhz processor can have official 2.3.4 then why cant galaxy 3 it has 667mhz processor?
they often have local support, just go to samsung.com you'll get redirected to the site of samsung in your country. then look for support.

3Maybe we should say to Samsung developers to fork Marcellube port so the will do something right and quickly.

When sending a request you also have to choose to which mobile phone your request refers.
The answer:

Wich means in English: were planning to make the update to android 2.3, but we do not know an exact release date. We expect the update to come before the end of June.
When the update is available you can see it in kies... Etc.
I hope they don't mean another phone.
