1) Flash any FTF file ending in 534 (Find files and instructions in the mega collection thread in the general section)
2) Install the latest dual recovery (Find files and instructions in the XZDR dual recovery in the the cross device development section)
3) Install a pre rooted 4.4 ROM of your choice (Find files and instructions in the development section)

i have gone through your many post....first of all thanx for all the help to us noobs.
and yet again i am going to ask you the same question.
how can i root my xperia z1 c6902 it is right now on 4.4.2 14.3.A.0.757,
from what i read i understand:

i need to install 534 ftf using flashtool.
here i am worried about losing IMEI number as some users have reported i am planning to flash this ftf https://mega.co.nz/#!Oxxk1Lqb!MC-coFtjIJxxeBRlQYY94CCL7WM4yBgLJNY17iQKf7o

i am going to repeat the steps given here

Make sure you have USB debugging turned ON.
download Z1-lockeddualrecovery[VERSION]-BETA.installer.zip from http://nut.xperia-files.com
Windows:
unpack at C: or somewhere you will remember!
navigate to the resulting directory and look for install.bat, double click it to run;

Your phone WILL reboot when installation has completed and it will go into the default recovery for the first boot.
Reboot to system from recovery to allow the installer to clean up after installation (it is safe to skip this step).
Enjoy DUAL RECOVERY!

Look, I have given the instructions, please follow them then ask questions

yes you will lose IMEI when you flash 534, but you will get it back when you flash a 757 rom
why are you bothering with a TA backup...ae you unlocking the bootloader? did I say to back it up? no...just follow the three steps I said
