I installed this update with cache wipes and google play store
Will not work just says no connection. Cleared app data and reinstalled Rom and nothing. Also tried to do a different version of play and still no dice.

Edit. Nvm I'm an idiot forgot to reflash those ics gapps. Everything is working fine now.

Any idea why the 7.4.3 zip was deleted from it's host?

Latest version of stock zip available is now 7.4.1

Latest Amazon software update is 7.4.6

Thanks

Do you need 7.4.6? It's lying around on my hard drive somewhere, and I could probably upload it if you need it.

Can you pm me a link to it please?

Yep, as soon as it's done uploading to Dropbox. My internet only let's me upload at a speed of 12.8kB/sec, and the ROM is about 500 megabytes. I let it run over night and it's still not done.

Also, the ROM is NOT pre-rooted. I'm looking into how to do that, and then I will upload it as well. Last time I tried or though, I bricked my device, and my fastboot cable is broken right now.

Root or no root is fine, I can root it myself like I did when I was running stock 7.4.6 before all the hacking and modding, I'm running CM11 atm but I liked the stock OS feel too, it'd be nice to have a ROM zip file so I could switch between Custom Android OS, and Stock OS whenever I felt like it

Okay. Give me at least a day. My internet is acting reaaally slow lately, and it's already slow when it's normal. I'll have to wait until I can get to somewhere with a bit faster and more reliable internet.

Amazon Stock OS for Kindle Fire HD 7" [07/13 - Version 7.4.3]

This flash .zip file contains the Amazon OS 7.4.3 update + root/Superuser.apk and should have OTAs disabled. You can use this to revert back to the Amazon OS should you need to for any reason.

INSTALLATION (TO REVERT TO AMAZON OS):
  • Place flash .zip file onto your SD card
  • Reboot into recovery
  • Wipe system
  • Use "INSTALL" and find the .zip file
  • Factory reset (wipes /data and /cache)

  • Go back through the stock Amazon setup process

I'm sure you already know this but the link to 7.4.3 is broken. Do you have a good link or maybe 7.4.6 or 7.4.7?

Use the OP files. Its pre-rooted 7.3.1. (When I said "revert" I meant from CM or a custom ROM.)

    Temporary Fix for Download

Since the 7.4.3 link seems to be broken, I've uploaded a copy of the update.zip I had lying around in my hard drive to Dropbox. For anyone who wants it, the link is here:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/69145507/kfhd7-amazon-os-7.4.3%20-%20STOCK.zip
    3
I have the amazon-os-7.4.3.zip already uploaded and I never updated the download link in the OP.

    Sorry about that.

I do very little to the update bin from Amazon:
I changeout boot.img with the freedom-boot.img for the appropriate version, add su, and Superuser.apk and then adjust the install script to set the correction permissions and avoid some of the steps like retouch binaries, etc.

I make no changes to the binaries in the Amazon OS itself as the goal is to provide a nice base for going back to a "stock" Amazon OS experience while maintaining root and TWRP access.
    3
Updated the OP with version 7.4.1 of Amazon's OS.

    It's pre-rooted w/ Superuser.apk and should have OTAs disabled.

Please report back should you have any problems.

(Remember to do a WIPE data/cache if you're swapping from CM10.1)
