VPN PPTP MPPE not working

Try setting the owner on /data/misc/vpn.
chown system.vpn /data/misc/vpn

The vpn change to the initramfs creates the directory with this owner, but if it exists the owner won't change. I will add a line in the initramfs to set the owner after creating the directory.

Ok, that worked.
chown -R system.vpn /data/misc/vpn

But I'm back to the same PPTP with encryption problem that has always haunted me in any ROM version... After a few packets are transfered the VPN hangs... stops receiving anything.

My own compiled version works, and even boots without flashing zImage, apart from one thing: there's no data connection. Searching for network operators doesn't return any results, the access point list is empty, and restoring the default or adding a new one doesn't do a thing.

Does anybody know what could be causing this?

As far as I know the ROM's don't include modems, so I should still be using the JPZ modem that comes with JQ1 as I restock to the Overcome package that includes that one.

The odd thing is that the 3/7 TE4M ICS ROM works just fine, as does AOKP build 25.

Will the Humberos ROM work on the Spring SPH-P100?

Hi fellows!

Just check it!

http://www.humberos.com.br/p/android-ics.html

ps. Today is my brother birthday!
This is for him!
Enjoy!

I have a SPH-P100 and when I try to load the rom with CWM it gives me an assert error because the product is not either P-1000 or galaxytab. Have I installed the wrong CWM? I'm assuming the kernel for cdma is the right one for the P100. Does the Humberos ROM not work on the P-100?
This is the same problem I'm having trying to install the ROM I built from the instructions on post #3. There I'm also assuming p1c is for the P100.
Pointing me in the right would sure be appreciated!

I wanted to see if I can get this installed and have deleted the assert function. It shows "Installation aborted" after zipping back up the file and trying to flash. I also tried replacing the kernel in the ROM from the one in the CDMA file, still won't work. I am using a Sprint Tab and have the latest CWMrecovery installed v5.5.0.4...thanks.

Thank you so much to everyone involved with the hard work that has gone into building this awesome rom!

It got sooo much faster in the last release, got cameras (albeit slow performing but they work!), and muuuuch better hardware acceleration ( enough for Netflix to work.)

Only other issues I've had are the green line in anything that buses HD he acceleration, and also wifi networks on 5ghz don't seem to show up at all (they did before so idk what's going on)

For the record I'm using humberos' newest 3/2012 build which I installed fresh by restocking to the overcome safe stock, installing the from, p1000 kernel, and gapps from recovery, wiping all caches and /data and then booting and "wiping the SD card" from android settings just to make sure there weren't any outdated apps left behind.

mtp workaround help

I have some samsung films i want to be able to watch on my tab but also want to keep using this rom as its perfect and everything is working great ( using angel camera whilst the native one is being fixed) . If i go back to the beginning , reinstall safe gb rom and root convert to ext4 using overcome instal sky go, hide my root and also move the films i want onto the rom. Then create a back up. Would i in theory be able to then instal this ics rom and kernel for every day use and revert to the back up to be able to use skygo and watch my drm protected films ?Or do i just have to wait for the dev's to come up with the mtp fix ?

I seem to be going wrong somewhere as i get an orange backup screen when doing the back up from gingerbread and a blue one from ics.and the restore fails .

Any help or advice much appreciated ...

Sounds like you're not flashing the kernel after the rom, at least not the correct one.
Let's please go to the nightly or discussion threads and I will try to help in anyway I can.

I'm in the same situation, I'm installing on a SPH-P100 with a kernel with CWM 4.0.1.5 bajed ubti ut, I tried to install the rom and received the assert error. I went into the updater-script file and deleted the assert line. But now when I try to install it all it says is "Installation aborted".

When troubleshooting I tried modifying the file first in windows, then in linux as I know sometimes zip in windows messes with file attributes. With no error message, I don't know what to try next. Any ideas?

Look!

Try this way:

1 - Back to your CwM 4.0.1.5
2 - Install latest CDMA CM9 Kernel - reboot in to recovery mode
3 - Install CM9 ROM - don't reboot
4 - Again, install latest CDMA Kernel - reboot

Let me know if this way work.

Unfortunately I can't seem to get past step 2. The kernel loads successfully but when I try to boot back into recovery (either using the reboot recovery menu option or power+vol up) I get stuck on the samsung screen. I went between the kernels a couple times and will try starting over again by going back to stock unless you have another suggestion.

Thanks.

This is a stable Build of the current state of CyanogenMod 9 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
CM9 is based on latest AOSP sources plus some useful tweaks and features.

What is MTD (for epic, but its the same for all Samsung devices - except the ROM links ofcourse) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1387334

Known Issues + Useful info :
USB Tethering won't work in windows (works in ubuntu, untested on OSX)
Internal sd is /mnt/sdcard, and external is /mnt/emmc
USB Host works with a Y cable as the tab doesn't supply power, doesn't with the standard Samsung Adapter for the new tabs.

    Official Nightlies : http://get.cm/
    p1 : http://get.cm/?device=p1 [GSM Tabs]
    p1c : http://get.cm/?device=p1c [CDMA Tabs]
    Modems :
    p1 [GSM] : http://goo.gl/EjHq5 (Flash via CWM)
    p1c [CDMA] : http://goo.gl/Dhmjl (Flash via Odin)

    READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING
^It's for the epic but it's pretty much the same thing except the ROM links, and the only ROMs having MTD now are CM9 based ROMs - no MTD on GB

Only way to revert to a normal ROM now is flashing a stock Samsung ROM by odin (with repartition checked)

How to Flash the above zips :

You need to restock your tab if you are running an old MTD build, (only if /system isn't 406 mb, check it by the command `df system` or use an app (such as root explorer) )
IF you are coming from a FSR (STL/BML) ROM (aka Samsung ROM - anything else than the latest CM9 builds / AOKP builds, i.e. any GB ROM, no need to restock)
IF you are coming from a froyo ROM, you need to flash a stock GB ROM first, follow the guide below :

    Restocking :
Follow the team overcome restock guide [http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17], and completely restock your tab.
Once you've flashed it, reboot into download mode again and flash any kernel with recovery (any non-MTD kernels from humberos.com.br, or this forum, for your tab model)
After you've flashed the kernel, reboot into recovery, and this time, install the zip you just downloaded from CyanogenMod servers.
Install Google Apps if you want (gapps-ics-* from goo.im) [optional]
Reboot and enjoy your tab :)

    Normal install :
You need to have a kernel with CWM Recovery
Get the zip from the above download links
Put the zip on your sdcard, reboot into recovery, and install the zip
It'll reboot a few times during the install, that's normal :)

    Sources :

    CyanogenMod : https://github.com/CyanogenMod
SGT7 (based off CyanogenMod sources with a few tweaks of our own) https://github.com/sgt7

All device tress (p1, p1c and p1-common) and kernel tress (p1 and p1c) have been merged into the CyanogenMod tree now, if you want to submit a change/patch, use cm code-review [http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Gerrit]

How to get the sources :
    Setup Android Build Environment (http://source.android.com)
    Code:
    mkdir ~/cm9
    cd ~/cm9
    repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b ics
(Type in your name and email address when asked)
    Code:
    repo sync
(^^This'll take a while, as ~7GB of sources are downloaded initially)

    How to build :
    Code:
    source build/envsetup.sh
    cd device/samsung/p1 ; ./extract-files.sh
    brunch p1
Replace p1 with p1c for CDMA variants.
Building may take a long time depending on your machine, might range from a few minutes to many hours
After the build is done, navigate to ~/cm9/out/target/product/p1
The zip you'll be looking for would be update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-p1-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip

If you want to build just the kernel, type the below commands
    Code:
    source build/envsetup.sh
    make out/target/product/p1/boot.img

If you want just the kernel - u'll get it in the same folder, boot.img
    Flash it with heimdall
heimdall flash --kernel ~/cm9/out/target/product/galaxytab/boot.img --recovery ~/cm9/out/target/product/galaxytab/boot.img

^^The above instructions were for building a clean CyanogenMod build for p1, without any changes we did to the sources (mainly frameworks and some apps)

IF you want to build that, sync from https://github.com/sgt7/android.git instead of CyanogenMod, and then build using the same commands
    38
    I got some news!

    https://plus.google.com/115013390614274076135/posts/CcmArQkDDXn

    Official builds coming soon!

But, till then, i suggest the kangers not to sync, as i'll be changing stuff upstream which might break the build(mainly vendor/samsung, device is now p1 and p1c)

So, dont repo sync until i give a heads up(or remove vendor/samsung from your manifest)

And, don't try to build p1 atm (uploading it in a while) - Can build the good old galaxytab fine, just don't try to build p1 or you'll be on your own (you'll know why soon)
