HTC India is rolling out the new 2.17 OTA for HTC One X in India. The updates brings a new Android 4.0.4 and HTC Sense 4.1 UI for the One X, as well as new ‘Recent App’ button in settings, which solves an annoying three dot menu bug. The update also brings Hindi, Tamil and Marathi language support.

Android Version: 4.0.4
Software number: 2.17.720.2
Change log:
Android platform upgrade to version 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
Improvement in memory and stability
Facebook Single Sign-on
Improved internet browsing experience with faster page loads and a smoother scrolling experience
Enhanced HTC Car UI and new music management features
Improve tab management in the browser with a dedicated tab switching button
Enhance camera capabilities such as white balance and continuous autofocus
Upgrades to Beast Audio
Hindi, Tamil, Marathi keyboard Support (सलाम नमस्ते )
Expanded SDK support for developers including, a Media Link SDK and framework for video call apps
Fixed Live Wallpapers Bug
Smoother Sense Animation
The Update is in 145 MB in size and it will bump the software number to 2.17.720.2 Users can check the update by going to ‘Settings > About > Software Updates”. You must have at least 35% battery remaining in your phone before you begin any update.

According to Football (on Twitter), the official JB update for the One X is expected in December.
Didn't find anyone willing to back this up, but this was the closest I came to finding an actual release date from someone well-known, atleast on xda!

SkyDragon Sense Rom V19On a serious note, i had a chat with one of my frnds who is a htc rep, and he told.me the update is now being tested for local language support and might be out by next week.. hopefully8Guys upgraded my wife's S3 to JB about 2 days ago. Take my word its not upto all the hype. I was struggling to find what was really new and what has changed. Could figure out three useful features
a) Google now
b) Voice search
c)two finger gesture.
I feel all three features are something you can live wihout.
After using the phone for about 24 hours the performance has just gone off the cliff. Its lagging heavily and is pretty much unusable. I have done a factory reset now. Hoping it will not degrade as earlier
Take it from me that our HOX running 4.0.4 is light years ahead of the S3 running JB. I have personally experienced it. so just relax and enjoy your phone.
