Default [Q] Help Updating Gingerbread to ICS using Kies Air

Trying to update my phone to ICS after finally giving in to peer pressure.
Kies Air is saying "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies."

Current Firmware version: I777UCKK6/I777ATTKK6/I777UCKK6/I7777UCKK6
Any advice?

What is kies air? Is it a mobile kies application u can use to wirelessly update through kies? I dunno I've never used it. But there are already threads dedicated to answering this question, including how to update properly through kies. Good luck.

Sent from Team Pirate Headquarters. AKA yer moms basement.

Phones: Samsung Galaxy S II, Motorola Atrix[retired]

I upgraded to ics via kies a while back, and have two things to say:

-I don't remember for sure, but i am 95%certain you cannot upgrade to ics over Kies air. You need to physically connect your phone to the computer with a usb and use regular Kies.

-Don't upgrade to stock ICS. It is terrible, and imo NOT an improvement over stock GB. I had never felt the need to root my phone until i unknowingly installed stock ICS. Within two days i had enough and wanted it off my phone, even without knowing about the emmc bug. If you really, really want ics, I'd suggest skipping the upgrade altogether, root your phone while you are still on GB, and then flash any of the custom ICS ROMs in this forum.
AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II (I777)
ROM: SHOstock3

Yes you are right the wireless update cannot be done it has to be hardwired to do it An I agree do not go stock root than flash and custom. One that I have used and am still using is phonebricker or shostock2 both are great roms
