[Q] Allwinner A13b Tablet Problems
I have a 7" tablet. I bought it from Amazon.com for $70 and it worked fine. The battery died, so I plugged it in, and it turned on and started to update. After the update, a force close message for SysytemUI would repeatedly pop up until SystemUI was force closed in the application settings. The tablet ran ICS 4.0.4. The box it came in had no branding at all, and the tablet has no branding either. It has a MicroUSB port, a MicroSD port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a DC-5V charging port, and a mic and front facing camera. The tablet stopped working and wouldn't boot after about a week., it would just get stuck in an endless bootloop on a generic "Android" boot animation. There is no button combination that works for this tablet to get to recovery or bootloader, only a blank screen. it has Vol+, Vol-, and a Power button. I tried many times to "adb reboot recovery" and "adb reboot bootloader" from cmd in Windows (Win7 Ultimate 64x) but ADB either freezes after "daemon started successfully" throws a "daemon still not running error: can't connect to daemon" or an "adb server didn't ACK" error. The device when powered will turn on, show a little android logo, then go to a blank black screen, and sit there for about a minute. At that point, it will reboot and repeat the process 2 or 3 more times before shutting down completely. My computer recognizes that it is plugged in, and ADB CAN see the device when ADB chooses to work. It was advertised as being made by Chromo inc. (which does exist, but their website is useless.) I am wondering if I have any chance at fixing this tablet, or if I simply have a 7" paperweight.
