[Q] Help rooting please.

Despite all my efforts, i cannot root this phone.
I had rooted it many moons ago and flashed a custom rom but it had a battery bug where if the battery depleted below 5%, it would not charge from USB. This, although a minor issue, caused me a load of problems in day to day use....
So decided to start afresh...
Reflashed with official motorola rom **this, i suspect, is why i cant root it**.

Tried numerous ways, SOC (stops at step 7) and many others on x86 and x64 computers.
Just cannot get the bugger to root...
Any suggestions please????
