S-View Flip Kit Kat 4.4.2 Problem

Until today I THOUGHT I owned an original S-view from Samsung...
....from what you said I might have been wrong after all.
My S-view chip says A10T8K
I hope this can be "sorted" in some way...I have two of these flip cases and I really liked the way they worked

I Need the sview cover.apk and the odex file from 4.3...I think I try a solution. ..can you send me peleas? ?

If you have Auto Brightness OFF it will not work. I discovered this myself. You need to have Auto Brightness ON -- another balls up by Samsung's foolish engineers again... *sigh*
What?????? With spigen sview works with auto brightness.????

For original one it is working nor-matter auto brightness on or off .
Can you pass to me the sviewcover.apk and the odex file from 4.3??? I think i can solve the problema. ..thanks

Original for me, I couldn't figure out why my screen wasn't turning off for some random reason, and realised it was very bright so switched auto brightness on and voila fixed
Oh, I though it affecting the counterfeit or spigen version.
Means still need to figure out what Samsung did make now only original chip is working.
in a while I try the sviewcovewr.apk 4.3 ... I hope that the changes are not deeper than in the application ..
same problem with me the s view not working after the update (not original s view but was working before)

Actually I already take out the original one and to make it slimmer, I peel off the back extra plastic and then I notice original one looks different design and look better when compare with those counterfeit or even Spigen one.
Now I make the original chipset permanent stick at my phone to let all S View cover working.
A little. O/T but anyone have any problems with S view leaving a permanent square on their screen?

If you don't have a screen protector (glass or normal) the cover will eventually remove the oleophobic coating in that area (happens with all there covers) - resulting in very apparent smudges in that area that are hard to wipe.

I bought a Slim Armor yesterday morning, heard about this and contacted them 5 hours after ordering and somehow the order was already shipped in 5 hours -_-, usually it takes days.
I'm on 4.3 stock and it doesn't work at all will my spigen case I just received today. Sad...

In KitKat it is SViewCoverService.apk and SViewCoverService.odex. There is no sview apk in 4.3

9Nope, after a whole bunch of 'feeding' it various values, I think I need to get an official case to see what actually gets sent over to the device. I've ordered one from Amazon, so we shall see. If I can effectively copy the values that are read from an official case then should not be a problem.
I shall be back on the 'case' when I get my new case

The home button is not only blocked from SView, it's blocked completely with the screen off, the event watcher is not registered for it.
I've been digging through all this code, and oh my word have they gone to town, and although our 'unofficial' stuff has stopped I don't think that was the primary reason for Samsung to do this, it seems they have registered a whole bunch of other identifiers, so that other official 'devices' whether they be cases or whatever can be identified uniquely.
The 4.3 way of doing things was :
Check for chip - if exists is it's vendor name Samsung - If so turn on S-View
in the 4.4.2 world :
Check for chip - if exists is it's vendor name Samsung - If so What's the Device ID - If it's 0x1 then S-View on if it's 0x2 then it's FlipView case (no S-View, just turn screen off, and turn on again when opened)
The problem we have, the chips our devices use Doesn't have an ID, Just the Vendor name.
What we need to do is force the detection code to identify the chip as an S-View no matter what.
I'll have another look later, only had a couple hours today.
Just so you know the status.7Wow, the more I dig the more horrified and impressed I am!
There's code in here to detect what colour the case is that you are using, and then it can set the background to match, there's code for different size 'openings' in the case, and for no opening at all....
I might need to get hold of an 'official' device so I can see what these things are being set too!
For now though, I'll try hack around it6
