If your phone doesn't need much vsel, then it's overheating.
Try overclocking with AOR's overclocking in the froyo menu.
Those settings are:
echo 56 > /proc/overclock/max_vsel
echo 900000 > /proc/overclock/max_rate
echo "1 700000" > /proc/overclock/freq_table
echo "4 700000000 46" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "2 500000" > /proc/overclock/freq_table
echo "3 500000000 36" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "3 250000" > /proc/overclock/freq_table
echo "2 250000000 26" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
The only time my phone boots is if I'm using it AND plugged into a crappy car charger, which probably charges too fast and heats up the back of the phone like crazy.
If you use Battery Monitor Widget, you will be able to the levels of various aspects over the last few hours on a graph.
It uses VERY little resources. It's an impressive widget.
Your phone may be running hot with those settings.I have a 60 vsel with 900mhz, 49 with 700 and 44 with 500.
Should I up the 60? And if so, to what number to be sure to have a stable situation? Battery performance is not that important as I have a charger at work too so I never run out of power.

After a few hours of heavy use, yeah, that will be running hot too.Btw with all the settings and optimizations, I still get a reboot when, lets say, im playing angry birds few hours after I turn on the phone :$. It starts with lag and bootanimation comes up.
