I don't really know how it works but you can do that with SetCPU. With this app you can change the speed of your processor but it can be a bit dangerous, I think at 1,7 Ghz you can damage the processor, it can resist higher speeds than 1 Ghz but don't push it to the limit or you'll screw it up!

I tried DooMLoRD kernel and that worked perfectly ;)
You can overclock at 1.9GHz without warm !

ok thank you very much!
i had my bootloaders unlocked but i relocked them,
i think i can just follow the same procedure to unlock them?
and when you have DooMKernel do you have automatically root?
and will that everything work on 2.3.3 and SE software 4.0.A....
thanks!

Yes that works for the latest stock rom (i've tested). For the root i don't know; i was already rooted when i flashed the kernel.
You don't loose any data ;)

For the bootloader i don't know, try to re-enter the 2 commands with the same unlocking key.

Wow,really up to 1.9 ghz without warm?
Is it possible to set an auto overclock only for gaming?

When you unlocked your BL, did SE send you an email with the unlocking key ?

Otherwise try to go again to the unlocking bootloader website, with se same IMEI :/

ok i guess you have confinced me now :p
i just forgot, will the data be wiped when unlocking the bootloaders?
(i can't find the email so i will try just re-entering the IMEI number and see what happens)

Yes all the data (internal memory) will be losed when unlocking bootloader. If you are rooted you will keep the root permissions :)

You can backup with Sony ericsson backup and restore (i think that's the best tool for no-rooted phones) or Titanium Backup.

So you can't change the frequency to more than 1Ghz  ?! did you follow exactly the instructions ?

Have you got the latest .368 firmware ?

do you know what will happen when 2.3.4 come out?
should i be able to update via OTA or?
(i dont need that update but i am just curious)
I don't know but if you do an OTA update with an unlocked bootloader ... Brick !
And if you flash the 2.3.4 firmware i suppose you will loose the overclock kernel.

But i'm sure Doomlord will make a new kernel for the next firmwares ;)
