I get Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 ( Com X ) is device manager. This is the same issue I had with my last phone after i dropped it and couldn't repair it. So no light when I plug in charger. I have checked and double checked the ribbon cables. I know there is an Unbrick Project related to the Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 ( Com X ) issue but that's for a software brick and I wasn't doing anything with the firmware. Im sure the XE I bought had the original htc firmware on it.
I'm guessing if the motherboard is not bricked and you connected the phone via usb cable WITHOUT the battery inserted then you should NOT get anything showing in Device Manager esp Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 ( Com X )??
On other thing I have two usb cables neither are original , I think one is from a blackberry . Surely this wouldn't' have anything to do with it.
