Hi

Status update:

I found all of the parts needed to start from scrach but the only copy of the FC09 tar I found was bad - got MD5 hash value is invalid. Found a EL30 tar and used that. Looked good.

ODINed te CWM5 and flashed clean BLM version. When I booted I did not get the bootup animation. Have loaded somethngs and still have both WIFI and G3. Have not tested hotspot yet. Have a lot more to do before I consider the phone fully functional.

Thanks for the help.

I think you mean the FC09 samsung and sprint apps. That is all the apps that most people consider bloat (somehow I missed removing qik). The purpose is to get all those apps back if you want. You can also open the zip and go into system\app and delete what you don't want and flash the rest. Yes it should give you back the voice apps. Otherwise Google sends you to the Play Store to download it.

Well glad your 3G and wifi work. You don't see the android guy zap the apple after the SAMSUNG splash screen?

rename your md5 file to this "SPH-D700-FC09-8Gb-REL.tar.md5"
essentially just adding in the .tar and it should work. at least it did for me.

No, you do not need it...earlier posts discuss the fact the fc09 modem isn't refelcting any significant improvements.

Has anyone had issues with Navigation? I used it last night and today, and it seems to lag quite a bit. I don't remember this from other ROMs, but I had been using CM9 then CM7 for a while and navigation was flawless.

I don't think I flashed anything out of the ordinary, and I didn't change modems.

Anyone else have problems with Navigation almost jumping from point to point while driving? Really annoying when you turn and then need to turn again!!

Sent from my Samsung Epic using XDA app so no search :-(

I use Telenav because some of the Maps updates were screwing up. Try clearing data in Maps.

I am not a fan of crt on but if enough people would like it I will make a flashable add-on.

I reflashed and did not flash the turbo charger scripts or V6 and all is good - you know, this rom is fast and smooth as is - and may not even need V6! Very nice!

If I do decide to try running the V6 Supercharge scripts again - can you tell me how to do the Initd stuff you mentioned? (That is a little over my head... but if you can give me some simple instructions - and if someone doesn't trash me for posting this in this thread versus the Supercharger thread.....Which I know is really where I should be...)

This is The People's thread...all questions are welcome. I would go with the V14 Adrenaline shot rather than the V6.

Mocsab...it really is straightforward...go to the v6 thread and watch the video by qbking. Select option 7...but, I do not think you need it. I tried it for a couple days and went back to the clean mtd version and really do not see a significant difference.

Hayzoos, I am reading quite a few people on CM9 Beta 2 having Navigator freeze up. They fixed it by uninstalling Maps and redownloading and installing.

Kenny Kenny, Kenny..... Good work, the wife has not complained once!!! I booted up The Peoples Rom last night on my device, cleared all scripts and turned sprint 3g optimicrap stuff off. Froze DRM as I always do with GB roms. Running really smooth, quick all data connections are awesome. I'm not going to bother with any tweaks at this point as it is working really great. I have been unplugged since 7:30am it is now 9:17pm that's almost 14 hours by my math. Battery level at 45% can not ask for any better performance. I can not lie, I love ICS and may revert to CM9 again but you have done a great job. I will run this Rom all weekend, who knows might just stick with it.
How's the move from Themer to Developer treating you? I am sure you want to pull you hair out sometimes if you haven't lost it all already.

To restore Apple zapping Bootani flash this

What is improved in 2.21? Big thanks to Ca1ne for getting the rest of the toggles working in the 15 (that's right 15!) quickpanel toggle mod AND for adding swipe away notifications to TPR!
Thanks to RandomKing for the transparent messaging app and for fixing the battery percent in settings>About phone>battery use.
    Spiderman Boot ani (for Spidermod).

If you are one of the 1%'ers that get freezes try adding the V6 supercharger as instructed by The People's optimizer Elevans here. And updated link to V6 Supercharger (thanks frostedunit)

For newcomers, the MTD version will convert you from BML to MTD with big thanks to Toadlife for that script.

ROMs do not change baseband (modem). If you want to change your modem check the roll up sticky thread in Development.

If coming from something other than an FC09 ROM I highly recommend you wipe data, cache and dalvik and not restore data, also you should be on CWM 5.0.2.7 or higher.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BACK UP BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING!

I am not responsible if your phone melts, you lose data, your mate breaks up with you, your favorite show gets cancelled, you get constipated, incontinence or impotence, or for the zombie apocalypse (we all know it's coming).

If you prefer v2.1 which was FC19 go here.

Download FC09 Sprint and Samsung apps here.

For those having trouble with Gtalk for video flash this (Thanks Shinydude100!)

Discussion of v2.2 and above starts here.

And discussion of v2.21 starts here.

    The People's ROM V2.1 FC19!

    TEAM BRING IT

    Proudly presents

    THE PEOPLE'S ROM V2.1 FC19!!!

Don't forget to flash the FC19 bloat files for all stock apps!

Thanks to Darkierawr for the push-pull!
He pulled the FC19 system and pushed me to release it..LOL. I will post the odexed stock versions he sent me in another thread this weekend.

It is highly recommended to flash this from V2.0 because something wierd happens on 20% of the flashes, the home key doesn't work without this fix.

The first thing noticeable is the Sprint Connectons Optimizer is removed by Samsung.
I themed this with the lessbluebox version, changed the bootani, changed the wallpaper, put in all the mods we all love, added the silent camera without the low battery shutoff and Gtalk with video.
All the stock apps (bloat) have been pulled and put into a flashable.
This has everything else that 2.0 has with the same thanks to all those Devs.

You MUST wipe cache and Dalvik or bad things happen (drove me crazy).
The BML issues are fixed, Boot to recovery works and bootanimation can be seen.

Here is the FC19 modem bin to be flashed in Odin: http://d-h.st/eU1

For anyone with battery issues please change i/o scheduler to anything besides cfq. Cfq does sleep but not as well as the other governors do on some phones. You also might want to wipe your battery stats with cwm (I know it has been stated this is a bad thing to do, but it has cured battery issues for me) and also pinpoint what is eating your battery up... I have been running the bml version on my epic for 6 hours and it has only dropped 9% with minimal use.
