Detailed Guide CWM,ROOT,UNROOT For Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro GT-I8552

Hi..
As Rahul has already posted about rooting,unrooting but i c still people having problem.
So,here is detailed guide for it with latest Superuser and binaries
==========================================================================================================================

CWM RECOVERY v6.0.3.6

Flashing With Odin

Install USB Drivers of your Device and remember an odin flashable file is supposed to be in .tar or .tar.md5 format only.

DOWNLOAD SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS

Lets Begin :-

1. First be sure USB Debugging is checked in ur device ( Settings>Developer Options>USB Debugging )
2. Extract the Odin file from the zip.
3. Open Odin3 (Run As Administrator).
4. Put your device in download mode. To do so, press Volume Down And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release
Power Button but keep pressing left ones. You should have a triangle with an android janitor while it's saying downloading ..
VOL UP TO CONTINUE...
5. Now connect USB to PC ,you should see a blue rectangle with COM:xx and saying Added. It means that your device is ready to be flashed!
6. Go into the PDA section and select your .tar file.(CWM Recovery)
7. Dont check any option (F.reset time and Auto reboot are checked by default) So just uncheck Auto Reboot.
8. Now click Start.
9. When it's finished, it should say that "Res OK" in Odin..
10. Now remove ur USB and remove ur battery and put it back and go to Recovery Mode (Volume UP And Home And Power Button all
together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep pressing left ones).

GUESS WHAT :- U r in CWM Recovery :D :D

NOTE :- Never click reboot recovery in advanced option in CWM Recovery it will cause bootloop or factory reset from phone settings do factory
reset from CWM Recovery,if by mistakenly u got bootloop just flashed CWM Recovery again.
( Remember this time Auto Reboot should be Checked )

ROOTING

There are two Superuser app

1. SuperSu
2. SuperUser

You can use any one of it but SuperUser is not getting any updates from last year and no more further develoment ,so recommend SuperSU.

HOW TO ROOT :-

1. Go to CWM Recovery (Volume UP And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep pressing
left ones).
2. Select update zip
3. Apply update from sd card (first option).
4. Choose SuperSU_v1.65.zip or Superuser_v3.1.3.zip (any one which u like) and press yes to apply update.
5. Now click Reboot.
6. GUESS WHAT :- U r ROOTED :D :D

HOW TO UNROOT :-

1. Go to CWM Recovery (Volume UP And Home And Power Button all together and when it vibrates release Power Button but keep pressing
left ones).
2. Select update zip
3. Apply update from sd card (first option).
4. Choose Unroot.zip and press yes to apply update.
5. Now click Reboot.
6. GUESS WHAT :- U r UNROOTED :D :D

YELLOW TRIANGLE WARNING WHEN YOU RESTART YOUR PHONE

DOWNLOAD TRIANGLE AWAY APP BY CHAINFIRE

TRIANGLE AWAY v3.10 :- http://d-h.st/c7Y

AND RESET THE COUNTER IT WILL REMOVE TRIANGLE AND ITS STATUS WILL BECOME OFFICIAL FROM CUSTOM (ONLY IN ODIN MODE NOT IN SETTINGS)

FOR SETTINGS STATUS
1.INSTALL TRIANGLE AWAY APP.
2.OPEN TRIANGLE AWAY AND SELECT THE OPTION "SYSTEM MODIFIED WORKAROUND"..
3.REBOOT UR DEVICE N U R DONE..

Thanks for the detailed guide. It is really very helpful. My phone firmware and kernel detaiks are here. Is this method totally safe for this versions. Sorry for asking but as I a new I wanna be confirmed once. Thanks once again.

a suggestion bro when installing cwm its better to untick the autoreboot to avoid automatic reboot b4 removing battery..shabby also mentioned this in his thread i think

Flashing is always risky ,thats why every dev says do backup before messing :p

but its totally safe ,just follow each and every step carefully :)

step 7 :D

installing first time auto reboot shud be unticked

but unfortunately if u got bootloop in cwm

then when u flash CWM next time click auto reboot it wont harm u ,i have written thread after all testing bro :) :good:

I flashed cwm but cant get into cwm by key combination and device status also custom...what to do

bro do u have stock recovry....cause I cant get recovery mode ...I flashed cwm twice so it show binery count 2 but cant get in recovery...
does this problem solved by flashing stock recovry or not and if yes than give me stock recovry plz...its urgent ...thnx in advance

have u tried all steps (step by step tutorial is given)

it can be solved after flashing stock recovery ,also check system/etc/installrecovery.sh file delete it then flash CWM recovery
