Can someone help me find an lg update tool that actually works????

no matter where i download it from it wont install, it hangs and keeps
telling me that there was an error in the microsoft extensions?!?

i followed steps to reset the winsock settings thru command prompt
and thru the browsers themselves and B2CApp.exe still won't download.
i get the same error...

is there something else i should be doing? something i'm doing wrong?
an alternate place to download B2CApp??

and i also tried the flash package and the B2CApp also gives me the same error.

Thanks in advance!

If you keep trying it, it eventually installs. I had this issue on a laptop I did a recovery on.

Having a Weird battery issue problem with a friend of mine's Thrill ...it will not charge past 2% and have tried different batteries and chargers but it always reports the batter at 0-2%.... So i thought i would give the Flash Tool a go ... did everything step by step and all works fine but at 50% on the Flash the phone acts like it disconnects then the flash tool reports a communication error with the phone and tells me to restart. I have tried it 3 or 4 times now using 2 different .kdz files... any idea of what could be going wrong?

That used to happen to me! Trekfan made a video on flashing a kdz. It's on YouTube and it's also on one of the kdz threads I think in the Optimus 3D development section that has win 7 in its title. You have to put the battery in at a certain time. Trekfan shows exactly when to and that's what worked for me

I am currently using Rooted LG Thrill with CWM Recovery (flashed via ROM Manager and kept one Nandroid backup) running one Custom ROM... Now I want to get official GB update from LG.. Main purpose is to use videoCalls via frontCam...

For that I guess I have to return to Stock (unroot being optional, trying via Voodoo OTA RootKeeper) and revert to StockRecovery...

Please correct me, if the following Procedure, I am going to try is WRONG:-

1) Returning to (semi)Stock via TOOL No2 (Flash stock rooted ROM via CWMR) and update SU and SU-binary
2) Flash StockRecovery via TOOL No2 (Recovery Manager)
3) _OPTIONAL_ Temporarily UnRoot via OTA Root Keeper app from PlayStore
4) Then update to GB via LG Update Tool (install and run B2CAppSetup)
5) _OPTIONAL_ Restore Root via OTA Root Keeper app

Please mention any mistakes in my above-said steps...

Many many Thanks in advance...

Because for some reason I can't get my backup to work and I don't like cyanogenmod7 I just used it to check it out and to try and do my first "rom flashh" and had problems with it and even bricked my phone and I'm still sketchy on how to flash roms and what not. After running R & D Test Tool, As the install starts I run into a fatal error, I've read that I'm supposed to ignore the connection issue pop-up?

Any light on this situation? I'm prepared smash this LG Optimus 3D into a million little pieces.

Truly, I hated LG since the Chocolate [Canadian Winters!] and the Rogers Shine which wouldn't let me play any java based games after listening to music, restart remedied this. And this is 3D number 2, which I paid an astonishing $40 for to help out a friend. Sold the first one for $300 after gimmick wore off, about 12 days.

Anyways help is greatly appreciated!

Okay so I'm in section 3 trying to flash V21D, I got to the FINAL step, and when I start the update it says the phone and UBS cable are not connected. I'm not sure if it's safe or not to unplug it or what, or if I did a step wrong.

Please help me :( I'm so close to victory!

so i tried the lg flash tool part. i was able to successfully flash v20p kdz file on my phone successful, though it was originally running v20p because its an Lg Thrill. However, i tried to flash v21e kdz because most lg optimus 3d roms for cyanogenmod 10 require that firmware. however, after the lg tool update finishes its analysis, when it gets to download, it says "updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal error while the Lg Mobile Phone Software Update" is there anyway i can flash v21e kdz on my phone? thanks for your help :p

I'm banging my head against the wall here.
I tried going ICS and hated everything that was broken.
So I used the Flash tool to install the V20p kdz. It booted, but similar to my attempts to originally get to ICS, the storage was full, even though it was a fresh install. Partitions all screwy?

Anyways, I could run fastboot, so I could install recoveries and loaders and such, but I had no luck with those. I tried installing Prometheus and others, but I can't get them to boot. Even weirder, sometimes they'd make the recovery reboot.

Giving up, I tried the flash tool again, reinstalled V20p.kdz. But never gets past the colored LG Logo...

Is this related to the baseband? Or does flashing the kdz include it?

Not sure what step to take next. I just want to get back to GB or Froyo.

Edit: THIS GUIDE got me back running again:
