[Q] How do we know third party apps like GoSMS are safe?
I was thinking about trying out GoSMS, but it asks for so many permissions. Things like phone microphone access, surely the keyboard needs permission for this and not GoSMS?
Also, with something as sensitive as text messages how do we know they're not storing them (if possible)?
I mean I've used another app (Lightflow I think) and the dev even says that while it needs a lot of permissions (which is understandable for the app) it doesn't ask for network access so they couldn't do anything with the information.
However, GoSMS asks for pretty much everything. How do we know it's safe?
P.S. Even though I mentioned GoSMS this goes for lots of apps, and yes you could say I sound a little paranoid but I think it's a valid question.
