Not sure if this is related, but I updated Google Maps about 2 days ago, and Maps went completely bonkers. I did a search and the map twitched and bounced all over never showing me the things I searched for. I tried to reinstall it, and even do some resets of settings, I finally gave up and reverted to by backup from TB. Things are back to normal, but I am going to wait a bit to update Maps again.

And we have a winner! I was waiting for someone to finally figure it out. Google maps update screwed with sh$t. Again. This isn't the first time. People like to think its the rom from the get go which is pretty much hilarious. :D

Anyone else getting issues with Navigation recently? Seems to randomly freeze for me. Just the visual map.. The directions keep coming through.

Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA

I found this. Same issue. I have good connection and only started seeing this recently. Very annoying when driving!

Same here but when running at 200 dpi the play store can be a pita for all apps to show but lcd density modder pro fixes that issue! I have zero issues as well.

OK so why is dpi set at at 240 when out of the box?

It becomes so confusing when you tell people to run the rom as you built it and they won't have problems.... so which is it?

there's a difference between what i do to my phone and what everyone else does to their phone. when i do something to my phone and and issue occurs, i fix it. knowing that i changed something from the "stock" packaging of this rom it is expected to happen. when others change something and issues occur they come post it in here.

what i do to my phone doesn't really apply to what others do to their phones. :D

Isn't that the idea for the thread:eek:

definitely not. if people ran the rom as it's released most of the issues (non-issues) wouldn't ever be posted here. this isn't a helpdesk as you already know. this is a development thread. i post rom, users use rom as-is, users report bugs, i fix bugs. done.

but when people add other weird sh$t thats outta the control of how this rom was packaged, that's not my job to fix it.

BUT like everyone else, you comment on things you try out (such as dpi change, in this case). It has created conversation that you say is "definitely not" what you want.

A page or so back, you said lets get back on topic... This is topic.

Task's ROM, Task's thread, Task's rules. I'm not sure this argument is moving things forward...

EDIT: unless he's enjoying it, I guess :D

creating conversation is totally different then people doing things to their devices and not being able to fix them like i can. if i was expected to fix all the little (or big) mods the user does to his/her device, you guys would get no updates because i wouldn't have the time to keep up on both.

so here's the easy way to say this. i develop this rom. i know how to fix things when I do "weird" things to my phone. the general user doesn't. then the general user wants to come in and blame the rom or the developer for his/her modifications to the rom.

you don't go and buy a corvette, put twin turbos in it, then take it back to the dealer and say it's his fault that the engine blew do you?

haha if task and I weren't having this civil discussion, we would have seen somebody saying it's quiet in here:D

Be sure to clear data for the gmap app. Doesn't guarantee a fix but has solved nearly all my gmap problems in the past

1.) If ANYONE asks a question that's been answered in the FAQ or OP, DO NOT RESPOND TO THEIR POST. (It should hopefully force them to search)

2.) If ANYONE trolls this thread. DO NOT RESPOND. Me and Red5 will take care of it. (Leaves less cleanup for Red5 and we keep a clean thread)

3.) Leave personal opinions of each other out of this thread or do that stuff via PM.

4.) Have fun in this thread. As most of you know I like to joke around and keep things light. Not everything can be development related. It takes the fun out of these forums.

If we can all just do these simple things I'm sure this thread will get back to where in needs to be. More people including myself will actually like coming into this thread.

    Re: [Rom] AOKP(Jellybean 4.2.2) | Task650 (3.13.13) AT&T

So the sgs2 took quite the beating today (or maybe last night). Considering its been my back pocket phone these last couple weeks while I've been testing these releases it must've fell out of my pocket last night or this morning in my parking garage. Looks like I ran over it. Not only once, but twice. It has been sitting in a puddle on top of all that. Looks like it put up a pretty good fight though. lol. It was a pleasure having it. But nothing is going to bring this thing back to life. Looks like I might be done here guys. I can't even begin to try and justify to my fiance why I would be spending our money on an old device when I already have purchased 3 new ones in the last 4 months. She would eat me alive. lol. It was a pleasure. :D
