Need an help to my frends

As I have flashed ROMs on many device such as Samsung, HTC and more.. Till today I never used SONY ... Today one of my friend pleaded me to find him a custom ROM for xperia mini.. model no E10i... I have downloaded the full toolkit which recently got updated to new base.

I tried the root and got success.. I have installed the custom kernel.. but after installing it.. I tried to flash a ROM but it got aborted.. first I thought it might be the cause of download.. so I downloaded it again... I jus want to know whether there is need for unlocking bootloader.

if your trying to install any custom kernel you will really need to unlock your bootloader. and i think you cant flash custom firmware if your bootlocked.

Okay,first of all,your friend asked for a CUSTOM ROM right?Have you make sure that you unlocked your friend phone bootloader?

And also does the kernel / Rom compatible with each others?
