Installed this ROM last night, with Semaphore 1.2.0s...I love it!

So far I think it's the best ICS ROM I've tried. Installation was quick and smooth, ROM seems very stable so far, everything I need is working and battery is brilliant!

Haven't tried from full charge, but I'm sure my battery was on around 60-70% when I flashed this ROM, now it's on 21% with 20hrs and 40m on the clock...NICE :D

Thanks krarvind, great job!

Do u recommend me this ROM or the nighty CM9? CM9 was actually the fastest of all the ROMs i had tried.

Been using Slim since about 3.5, used other ICS builds but this is by a country mile the quickest and most stable. I have a few wee error logs to share though.

After a restart, the battery shows as 100% on the lock screen, whatever the level left of charge. Only happens once and after a restart so not really bothered.

I can't get tethering to work (wirelessley) It just turns off immediately after I select it through Power Controls widget (Free from Play store.) This is quite a biggy for me I use it to tether my TF101 when I have no Wi-Fi when I'm away with work. It worked great on 3.4,5 & 6, just not on 3.7.

There seems to be no way of enabling vibrate only mode. I often e that mode when at work but miss calls and txts if it's set to silent but vibrate is on.

Aside from those niggles, freakin amazing ROM. Uber quick, UBER smooth and stable as a house for horses. Fantastic work, but PLEASE fix the tethering thing!

Random question...

Hi everyone...just a quick question:

My GF wants me to flash this ROM on to her SGS. She is currently running CM7, and has her apps backed up with Titanium. Can I restore these on to this ICS ROM? (Both app + data)

Any advice would be appreciated...

Many thanks

Not sure but think you have to reinstall apps from the market and restore data from TB. Slower but safer. once on ics, can restore app and data from TB

Not sure about coming from cm7. My experience was coming from another ics rom was that most apps were fine but any google apps resulted in the play store forced closing. My only solution seemed to be to reflash the rom.

There have been a lot of tb updates since then and as i stick to this rom i can't say if it works but probably worth the trouble of downloading apps again and making fresh backups from within slim.

ok, I don't know why no one is replying to me neither you krarvind... but I'm getting really frustrated with this.

Using apktool, I decompiled mms.apk (yes, I installed the framework from my system/framework)

I modified mms_config.xml (from res/xml). I just changed two values:
-20 recipients limit to 100
-8 sms to mms treshold to 200

Then, compiled again. Then, deleted resources.arsc from the compiled apk.
Finally, copied META and resources.arsc from original mms.apk to the one I compiled.

I copied that to system/app using root explorer and set permissions to rw-r--r--

Rebooted and nothing. The messaging apk wouldn't even show up in launcher! Please someone help me cause I've spent lots of hours on this and still nothing....

Below in attachments is my final mms.apk that doesn't work.. in case someone wants to check it for errors

I don't want to be responsible for not working after but I backed up all my USER apps from GB with data and restored them on ICS and all worked fine. Never had a problem and I am on ICS for some months now. Only User apps though.

I always do it: "restore missing application with data". Sammy ROM or CM7 or ICS, no prob at all.

Sent from CM9.

Thanks guys...I've reported your comments back to "Senior Management", and we'll see what she says LOL :D

Np. You won't lose the backups if it doesn't work. Just keep the 'Titanium Backup' folder safely backed up and try another method if the regular restore doesn't work. That way, backups will be safe and you always keep the data to restore afterwards. I think she will be happy to hear that :p

network connection

hi guys!
i use 3.7 on semaphore 1.2

i'm in roaming ... quite often after i lose the signal (in the tube for eg) the phone cannot reconnect to the network: i restart it and sometimes finds a network quite fast, sometimes i just have to wait and wait ...

i guess the setting to choose the network automatically is on ... but i am not sure. the menu there is a bit tricky

anyone can help? how can i "fix" that!

thank you!

    Slim ICS v2.7 - Stable
    IMPORTANT NOTE: :
Starting with 2.7 I am forming a common base for galaxy variants, so every user needs to flash the Slim_ICS_Base_2.7 and their device essentials, so a I9000 user has to flash the Slim_ICS_2.7_I9000_Essentials as well, if you don't your system won't boot. I am doing this so i can make it easier on my side and allow users of vibrant and captivate to become Slim.

    • Smaller but common base for galaxy S variant phones
    • Modded Market where paid apps work ( if it doesn't, try this, manually push it in system/app, set permissions, reboot)
    • Modem provided in Essentials - it will leave your modem alone if there is one already.

    Market Workaround at 182 DPI:

    • Use this Vending.apk if the inbuilt one doesn't allow paid apps.

      or
    • Change to 240 dpi, reboot, clear market cache, and verify that all apps are seen ( if you can't see any at 182 dpi), then change it to 182 dpi and don't clear cache. All apps will show up until you clear cache next time.
      or
    • Buy LCD Density Modder Pro. Easily allows to change DPI and downloads a modded multi dpi marketplace.
