I did bunch of searching and couldnt find a 100% answer to my question.

so i was on jellybean 4.3.1 and wanted to upgrade to cm 4.4 kitkat. i upgraded to twrp 2.7.0.0 and was ready to go
started to delete everything via twrp (data/sys/etc)
this is where it got weird. i tried to factory reset to reformat the data partion. it just got stuck on the formatting data screen with
the moving bar....stuck on that for 20-30 minutes. so i hard reset it and tried again.

eventually crap hit the fan and i got a bootloader mismatch error message.....couldnt do anything..no recovery no fastboot.

lucky for me i had my nvflash from back when i was still on ICS.

i nvflashed back to life, jellybean 4.1.1 but i see that i lost my unlocked bootloader and i also cant use the asus unlock tool. i can not
install any custom recovery so i cant play around with 4.4

sorry for the long story but anyway i can get my bootloader unlocked again to get a custom recovery on there? i think asus unlock tool shows that my tablet's serial or mac address was already unlocked and wont let me do it again....i tried to email them but waiting for a response.

or can i nvflash back to the ICS unmodified rom and somehow unlock the bootloader there?

thanks

Did you flash the unlock-token when recovering with nvflash?

Yes, you can run it now and you should be good to go
The command will be
Code:
nvflash -r --download 7 unlock-token.img
