Your flashed radio will remain on your phone until you flash a different one. Hard resetting the phone will not revert your radio.

Just tested and got a fix using GPSOneApp in just under 22 secs. with Agps enabled.

Edit:
This is also sitting in my office about 15 ft. from a window with complete cloud cover and raining.

the combo ain't working so great for me up here where i live. it couldn't even find satellites to lock using gps test. i revert back to the 1.12 rilphone and it found satellites again from the same spot. just reportin my findings for those of you in the GTA :)

Thanks for the info, very much appreciated.

I have a question, before installing the Radio, I need to flash HARDSPL, I tried but my attempts failed. I followed the steps precisely.

• I'm connected to Windows Mobile Center
• I run the HardSPL.exe from my computer
• the RUU finds my device and recognizes my device's information
• I follow the RUU prompts untile it is ready to flash.
• The Progress Bar appears on my Laptop at 0%, never progresses at all.
• My phone goes into a black screen for EVER
• At the same time my phone goes into a black screen the RUU errors on my laptap with a [260] connection error.

Am I missing something?

Switched from 1.13 to the 1.14.25.05 on T-Mobile NLD (Radio ROM + RILPhone).

About the 1.14.25.05 radio:
Battery life seems to be much inproved, GPS is a bit slower to connect and the HSDPA seems to be about the same if not a bit better (I had an area with bad reception before, but now the internet radio keeps playing).

I think I'm keeping it for another week, and then maybe switch to 1.12, because I read good things about it.

Been using 1.14.25.05 for a day. So far my impression is, battery life is good, gps locking is fast (but slower than 1.12.XX.XX). However, the biggest improvement is that the echo during voice call is gone. Am really happy now! :)

measuring power consumption

I've put a good ten minutes into googling an alternative to acbpowermeter for the TP as that thing gives bad readings, came up dry. All I know of that gives presumably correct readings is the BatteryStatus today plugin but I'd like something that charts and tallys over time.

We got anything like that out there?

Hello Everyone. Just a quick update for me:

I'm coming from Stock Radio 1.02.25.32. I'm trying to curb my newfound addiction to flashing ROMs and it's time to turn to radio (settled on EnergyROM 41409b).

I work in the basement of a hospital with radiology above me. Cell signal is pretty much nill. I barely get e-mails through, and nothing on voice.

I upgraded to 1.14.25.05. I watched the signal strength while I was reading backwards on the forum and it seems to have worse signal then my stock (it never did show as connected). This lasted about 15 minutes.

I then 'down'graded to 1.12.25.19 based on people's comment. Immediately I connected onto Edge (albeit barely, and I can't get 3G down here) and was back to my spotty signal I had with my stock radio.

My observation isn't very scientific at all, and I certainly didn't give the 1.14.25.05 radio a real chance I realize, but I still found this interesting.

Hey guys, trying to read back and see what the deal is with these newer radios: 28, 32, 20m1. I am not seeing hardly any mention of them. Did someone cheat on the votes or something? last few pages are all people saying 19 is still the king, I havent checked here in a while so maybe I am just missing something/didn't read back far enough. I flashed 32 and my battery goes down 100% in 8 hours or less, even with NO usage. Interestingly, I can talk on the phone for 30 minutes and it will go down 5%, so it seems that standby time and talk time are equal.

I upgraded from 1.11.25.01 to 1.12.25.19 last night. I chose to install 1.12.25.19 rather than the newest 1.14.25.05 because I've read so many good things about 1.12.25.19 and not as many good things about the newer one. I was initially worried that I was going to have to install the 1.12.25.19 rilphone.dll as well to get it working properly as I have read that some people had signal and battery woes without it. However, I was reading in one of the threads yesterday that the rilphone.dll from 1.12.25.19 is exactly the same (byte for byte) as the 1.11.25.01 one (I'm using the 5.05.405.1 HTC WWE ROM). This was great news for me and I flashed to 1.12.25.19 straight away.

Over the course of today, 1.12.25.19 has been fantastic! Signal strength and battery consumption are about the same as 1.11, whereas call quality and HSPA speed have improved slightly (might be placebo effect). However GPS is where the major improvement is! Locking with the 1.11 took up to 5 minutes (and sometimes never locked at all!), but 1.12 in the same location found a lock in less than 7 seconds! Admittedly the very first lock took a while at about 2 minutes - but every lock thereafter has been lightning fast. Accuracy is also much improved and it found me within 1-2m whereas it's usually accurate only to about 5-10 m. Once it locked, it never let go and never dropped out unlike the 1.11.

So if you're using 1.11.25.01 with its corresponding rilphone.dll, I definitely recommend upgrading to 1.12.25.19! Well worth it.

I'm in Melbourne Australia on the 3 network and am using an Australian purchased HTC Touch Pro with the 5.05.405.1 WWE official HTC ROM.

Regards
Tim.

The poll is old, the newer radios aren't included in the poll because you can only have so many options for the poll.

Im using .20M1 on my Fuze with my custom 21210 6.5 build. I have the rilphone installed, and whenever I reset my phone it goes back to 3G from my previous setting of EDGE only. How do you fix this? And if this cant be fixed what radio should I try next? .19 is out of the question though.

Poll is not update and IMHO its useless, choosing best radio depends on location and what we expect from good battery or strong signal.

Could you point me to that particular thread, because I want to be sure that these two .dlls are the same - I'm using 1.12.25.19 radio and some older rilphone.dll, and I'm not on AT&T so their rilphone might not be good for me, but 1.11.25.01 is HTC official and therefore I could try it. Just want to see for myself are these two the same or just similar.;)

For me, the 1.12.25.19 radio coupled with the 1.14.25.05 rilphone.dll seems to work perfect for me. Good signal, good battery life and just all around a good combo for me. Could be placebo but the 1.14.25.05 radio wasn't all that great and ate battery so I flashed back to the 1.12.25.19 radio and did not change the rilphone.dll. So far so good.

Hey there P1. Did you test this combo to see if you still get the 1-2 second location lag?

Im going to give them a shot and hope it helps. Missing a turn and having to pull over to reroute just sucks lol

20m1 radio sucks for GPS for me, but radio reeception was ok. GPS took 20 minutes to lock on!

btw MAW did you have the touchlockpro software when you had the 20m1 radio installed? was it the radio not the proggy that did the drain?

okey the same happened to me.. took me 20 minutes to lock.. do you sugget any that might work much better? have you changed or?

    [edit]
i changed to radio 1.02.25.28 and it took 25 sec. to lock 4-5 satellites ;)

i use blackstone 1.10.25.25 radio rom...in my opinion, this radio rom is the best...the gps connection time is max 1-2minutes under full cloudy weather.

I was using 1.14.25.05 and i installed 1.17.25.09 yesterday. I have no problem and i think better battery life with it.
    Should i apply any rilphone.dll?
You might as well just stick with the one you've got, especially if you've already confirmed better battery with the new radio/rilphone combination.
